QB freezes while using the 1099 Wizard

Happens only in one company file. other company file hosted on the server do not exhibit this issue. Only way to get control back is to force close QB. Have already ran QB file doctor against the company file, and no errors were detected. See screenshot. Also have ran the QB installation repair utility. Looking through event logs, found "unexpected error 5 in call to NetShareGetInfo" which usually means security permissions issue. These have been verified, and are given at the domain group level to the network share on the file server. (user is able to access via mapped drive and access the QB file to open anyways?) had another user try on a different machine with a different QB username, and they get the same result. QB is not asking for any updates and company file is up to date.

Thanks!

QB freezes while using the 1099 Wizard

Thank you for posting here in the Community, @ASG-NOC-Team.

Let me give you some basic troubleshooting steps that will help you process your 1099 in QuickBooks Desktop.

When experiencing data issues we recommend verifying and rebuild data to fix common issues within the company file. Before you get started, make sure to back up your company file.

Here’s how.

  1. Go to the File
  2. Select Utilities and then, click Verify Data.

Once done, use rebuilds data utility.

  1. Select File, followed by Utilities option, and then Rebuild Data.
  2. A pop-up message stating backup of the file is needed will occur. Click on the OK.
  3. Once the message stating Rebuild process is complete, click on the OK button.
  4. Run the Verify Data tool in order to find out if there are any more data damage errors left. Select File, followed by Utilities option, and then Verify Data.
  5. Once the rebuild finished, select OK.
