Hi,
Someone told me that the Quickbook 2021 cannot run in the Apple M1 Chip, It only can work in Intel.
Is it true?

This last response says that in a couple of weeks, everything should be updated where we can use Quickbooks 2015 again with Big Sur. That was in NOVEMBER 2020. It's OCTOER 2021... I only have QB 2015 on my computer for my previous company that I use very little. I run Quickbooks online for my current business. So I was quite shocked that this is not working. Can someone help me figure out how to get this running again. There are a TON of comments on here, a lot of people griping. I just need to know how to access my files.
Please and Thank you
What if I want to just continue to use QB2016 with Big Sur. Is there a way that I can do that or do I have to upgrade to qb 2020 to be able to use it. It's something that I don't use much but all of my customers and transactions are on there. And when I try to open it, I get a black screen which says Quickbooks 2016 cannot be opened because of a problem.
Help, please...
QBD 2016 and older versions are outdated. They won't do anything to support BigSur. Consider purchasing a one time license of QBD 2021 immediately. They will release QBD 2022 next week officially and only offers the subscription license.

sorry, I could open the link through typing it , not using copy & paste.
thank you very much!!!
Thank you for joining the thread, @vin2021.
At this time, the latest patch of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2021 that supports OS software doesn't include the Apple M1 chip. Since the Macintosh line recently transitioned from Intel to its own CPUs last month, I recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team.
To know more about system information, browser requirements, and integration through this article: The QuickBooks that’s made for your Mac. It also includes answers to the most frequently asked questions about the installation process and compatibility to name a few.
To view the existing system requirements, check out this page: Quickbooks Mac-2021-users-guide. I've also attached an article you can use to install QuickBooks Desktop for Mac: Install and set up QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.
Additionally, here's an article that'll further guide you in managing your business using QBDT for Mac: User Guide. It contains topics about banking, lists, and getting paid to name a few.
Rest assured that we'll get back to this post once we receive an update about the Apple M1 chip for QuickBooks for Mac 2021. Please keep in touch if there's anything else I can do to help you succeed with QuickBooks. I've got your back, @vin2021.
can it work on Mac in other country, not in USA. Because some people said that Quickbook for Mac only can use in USA time zone
After installing QB 2021 Desktop for Mac, it work fine, it is after an update, that it does NOT OPEN!!!
I get messages that there is an update for QB, but not able to update if it does not open, all I see is the rainbow circle just spinning.
Hi there, @JuanitaO.
Thanks for following along with the thread and sharing your concerns.
Let's try some basic troubleshooting steps to get QuickBooks to open. Such as suppressing it. You can do this by holding in the control key from your keyboard, and clicking on QuickBooks. Please keep holding the control key until QuickBooks is fully open.
If you're still unable to open QuickBooks after suppressing it, I encourage you to preform a clean install. This removes QuickBooks with the installation files that were left behind to reinstall the program from a clean slate. I've included some steps below to clean install.
Please note: You need to remove both PLIST* files from the User and System folder. Once removed, all preferences will revert back to its default settings. This can cause your QuickBooks to be unregistered.
After Removing the PLIST, restart your computer. Then, you're ready to Install QuickBooks again.
For additional details about this process, check out Reinstall QuickBooks using a clean install.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I'm always around to lend a hand. Take care!
Although we appreciate your replies, it does not help for our accounting needs! Specially since it's only been a month since I purchased the QB 2021 desktop for Mac Version, and may I add, that it was not mentioned that I may have issues when Mac would do updates. I've been using QB for over 25 years and up until now, is disappointing, that QB being a reputable Company, does not seem to be proactive with this Mac issue. I was told a week ago that this week would be resolved, but nothing yet.
Thanks for getting back with the Community, JuanitaO.
Since our recommended troubleshooting steps didn't solve the issue and QuickBooks still won't open, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Customer Care team. They'll be able to pull up your account in a secure environment, conduct further research, and create an investigation ticket if necessary.
They can be reached through our website. Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.
I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have an awesome day!
