Good afternoon, I am retiring and leaving the Mac with QB 2021. I want to delete my user information from the computer. If I create a new user on the computer, what do I need to do to have that user use QB 2021?
Mac running Catalina v10.15.7.
Hopefully, it's something simple. I have a tendency to make things harder for myself than they should be. :-(
Thank you.
Barbara
Hello there, B_R_Wells.
Allow me to make it up to you and share some insight that'll help change the Administrator to another user.
To make changes to the user access you need to be log in as Admin. That said, let's take a closer look at the user's setup and make the necessary changes.
If this regards your Intuit account or Camps account, you can check this article that'll help you change the admin role to a different user: Transfer the primary admin role in QuickBooks Desktop.
I've also added this article to check the System Requirements for the Mac version if it fits QB 2021: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2021.
If you need further assistance with this process, I'd suggest reaching out to our Customer Care Team.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me here should you have any further questions about your user login, I want to make sure you're taken care of. Thanks for coming to the Community.
Thank you for the help. Once I follow the steps to change the new user to the admin, I can then totally delete my user from the computer?

Maybe. There is never a guarantee that Intuit will transfer the license as it is tied to you. That, however, is the software only. You are free to give your company file away to anyone that can log in, either as you or as another authorized user.
Thanks for following up with the Community, B_R_Wells.
You're correct, once you've set up your new user as an admin, they'll be able to delete users that aren't needed.
Here's how:
I've included a detailed resource about managing users that may come in handy moving forward: Manage user & password preferences
Please feel welcome to send a reply if there's any additional questions. Have an awesome Friday!
Thank you for your help!
