The software has turned pretty slow and i suspect its because of the larger 400MB file size. Is there a tool to shrink the size or workaround to resolve this?
If you are using QBD US version, you can run the Condense Data utility. Otherwise, you may purchase a 3rd party condense service.

Know that being able to condense your file may vary on the version of QuickBooks that you're using. Older versions of QBDT tend to affect the system's performance.
To help you resize your file, you can check a third-party application that integrates with QuickBooks and help you in shrinking the data.
