Is Enterprise 24 supported on server 2025

Thanks for getting in touch with the Community, 1024scraig.

If you're refering to the Windows Server that QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise 2024 operates on as a system requirement, the program uses Windows Sever 2016, 2019, or 2022 (Regular or Small Business Sever).

Windows 10, all 64-bit editions which are natively installed, and also Windows 11 which are natively installed will work as well.

In regard to Server RAM (for multi-user support), you'll need 8GB for 5 users, 12GB for 10 users, 16GB for 15 users, and 20GB for 20 or more users.

You can learn more about system requirements by reviewing our System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2024 article.

I'll be here to help if there's any questions. Have a wonderful Monday!

So, Windows Server 2025 is NOT supported?    This would be the host machine.

So to be clear, Windows Server 2025 is not supported.  This question is for both the client and Host.

Yes, you are correct, @1024scraig. QuickBooks Desktop 2024 is not compatible with Windows Server 2025 as it's intended to work with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and the 2022 Standard and Essentials versions.

To ensure optimal performance while using the program, it is essential to align the client and host server strictly according to the system requirements outlined for QuickBooks. This alignment will help avoid potential issues and ensure that the software functions smoothly. For more detailed information, please visit the following page: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2024.

If you've already set up a database on the device, you can visit this article to learn more about configuring the settings: Install QuickBooks Database Server Manager.

Ok but now if you are running QuickBooks on 2022 Remote Desktop Server QuickBooks will display a dialog that you are running Windows 10 OS which is no longer supported.    When will Intuit provide support for server 2025 so we can allow users to work with it and avoid the Windows 10 OS warnign.

Joining the conversation to share additional details about the supportability of Windows Server 2025, nycitpro7.

Currently, we're unable to provide a timeline for Windows Server 2025 availability. However, we recommend visiting the Intuit Update Portal regularly for the latest announcements and compatibility updates.

Meanwhile, you can consider upgrading to Windows 11, as it is compatible with QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2024. To begin this process, contact Microsoft Support to confirm your eligibility.

If you are using an older version of QBDT, updating to the latest version will help ensure compatibility with Windows 11. Before making any changes, create a backup of your company files first to safeguard your data. Then, re-install QBDT on your system to complete the transition smoothly.

I'll add this article for more info: Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 OS.

Running Windows 11 natively is currently not an option for customers who run QuickBooks in a Remote Desktop Server environment.    Since Intuit has dragged its feet in supporting Windows Server 2025, we are left running the 2022 OS which has Windows 10 code base whereas Server 2025 has a Windows 11 code base.  So now users get a Windows 10 OS warning each time the log into a company in QuickBooks on an RDS 2022 Server.   Hopefully Intuit will announce support for Server 2025 soon.
