Unfortunately, there is no way to print bank register with split transactions detail in QBO.
On the Bank Register screen, hover your mouse over to the Split link under Payee/Account column, it will give the breakdown. That's about it.
Let me help you find a way to print the split details, @boothby-roe.
For now, the option to print split transactions through the View register is unavailable in QuickBooks Online. However, I can provide you another way of printing this type of details.
We can run the Transaction List with Split reports then print it from there. Let me show you how:
You can also customize your reports in QBO to easily view the transactions that you needed the most.
If you need further help when it comes to printing transactions in QuickBooks, please let me so I can guide you.
These steps do NOT work - isn't there another way to print or sort on splits - why enable entries if you can not run the report in QB basics?
The instructions provided by my colleague should help you with printing the split details, Kgroganstockton.
Although, the report is unavailable in QuickBooks Online Simple Start version. You'll want to check for another report and customize it. Then, print it.
You can open the article ReymondO provided at the top.
Feel free to get back to this thread if you have more questions. We're around to help you.
I followed these instructions and it still only gives the transaction total- not the details of how the transaction is split.
Hello, Jlk0007.
I've replicated in my end, and it gives me the details of how the transaction split. Let's isolate this case by performing basic troubleshooting.
There are times when a browser's cache data becomes full of frequently-accessed pages, or it is damaged. This unexpected behavior can be caused by some browser issues. We'll start logging into your account through a private browser. It's the best spot to identify web problems. These are the shortcut keys:
Once you're in the Private / Incognito Window, sign in to your QuickBooks account, try run the report to check if the details of how the transaction split showing up. If it works, then you can go back to your original browser and clear the cache. Alternatively, you can use other compatible browsers. It could be that the one you're currently working on has a temporary issue with QuickBooks.
You can check this article if you wish to customize your reports in QBO. This gives a clear vision of the data that you wanted the most.

This report does not show debits and credits correctly. For example, a check written for $200 shows $200 towards the checking account and $200 towards the expense. It should show -$200 (reducing the bank account) and $200 (increasing the expense). The debits and credits should always balance (equal zero). They do not on this report.
Thanks for the clarification, @wkelley
The option to have the debit column show a negative amount in running a report is not possible in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
As a way around, you can customize the report to have the debit and credit column and export it to MS Excel. From there, edit the amount in the debit column by adding a negative sign. Let me show you how:

Intuit is completely a b.s. company when they cannot figure out how to include such a simple thing, as printing 'Split' category transactions. This is preposterous.
I agree, there is NO WAY to print the details by categories with the On Line version. Was able to do it with the desktop version.
most useless accounting "software" have ever attempted to use. What adds insult to injury are the mostly useless responses from what appear to be Intuit employees. Does anyone at Intuit who is in management even give a darn about their product and their perception with the public? apparently not
All of a sudden, when I hover my mouse over the word "split" it just shows a blank outline. The only way I can see the split information is to open the transaction and click on edit.
Anyone else seeing this?

Up until a couple of weeks ago it always showed the split breakdown when I hovered the pointer over "split".
Now not only do I have to click on "split", i also have to open the item and click "edit". Never needed to do this before.
I don't want to edit any reports, I just want to see the split details without opening up "edit".
It this different before and after a transaction is reconciled?
