Moving your QuickBooks Desktop to another computer can be a bit tricky, but if you follow these guidelines carefully, you should be able to do it without any issues.
Let's make sure you have a backup of all your QuickBooks data. This is essential to ensure you don't lose any important information during the transfer process. Once you have your backup, you can proceed with installing QuickBooks on your new computer. From there, you'll need to restore your data from the backup you created earlier.
Once you finish backing up your files, you'll be able to utilize the Migrator Tool to transfer your QuickBooks Desktop files to another computer. To access this tool, you'll need to have Company Admin. This tool is designed for those running a single-user edition of QuickBooks Desktop 2018 or newer within the United States. The Migrator Tool will migrate up to three company files seamlessly and efficiently.

I would recommend running QB Desktop on Win 10 Home over Win 10 Pro. If you encounter issues later, consider buying QB Desktop 2020 with the one time license to upgrade your version.
I have Pro 2014. After updating, as recommended, the migration utility was still not to be found.
I have Pro 2014. I updated the software, as recommended, and the migration utility was not available. Now what?
Let me continue to address your concern about the migration tool, BA1016.
Thank you for taking the initiative to update your QuickBooks. However, know that the Migrator Tool is only available for versions 2018 and above. This is why you are not seeing that option.
On the other hand, version 2014 has already been retired and cannot be registered when installed on other computers. Reactivating retired versions requires an activation code, but this practice has been discontinued for quite some time now.
I agree with Fiat Lux - ASIA's suggestion about purchasing the latest version so you can continue working on your file in another computer. To make a purchase, please contact our Sales team using the phone number provided in the upper right-hand corner of this page. Once you have the latest version, you can then consider upgrading your company file.
I'm only a comment away should you need more assistance with our company file. Have a good one!
Can you still open your company file on the old machine?
Yes, it opens on old PC
Yes
Open your company file on the old machine and secure a backup file (*.qbb)
Install your QBD 2014 on the new machine and restore the backup file.
When you reinstall QB on your new machine, it may be asked to activate your license. Chat Support and get the activation code. If they refuse to share it, you will need a workaround.
Thank you. I will try this.
