Join nowA client sent me a QB Enterprise backup. I'm a QB pro adviser but don't have Enterprise on my computer. how can I download?
Hi there, margemcdonnell.
Currently, the option to restore data from a QuickBooks Enterprise to QuickBooks Pro premier is not available. In order to open the company file of your client temporarily, you can take advantage of the trial subscription.
To install QB Enterprise, you'll just have to choose either you have to Purchase Enterprise License or use trial version.
Let me know if you have questions in mind. I'll get back to you right away. Have a wonderful day.
If you want to help your client for more than 30 days, the trial license is not enough. You may have three options:
1. Purchase an Enterprise license for yourself. Enterprise Accountant edition is better for your case.
2. Utilize the remote desktop solution

3. Ask your client to deploy a private cloud to let you accessing their data file anytime you want.

Just my 2 cents.
Pro Advisers get Enterprise free each year. To open the file you'll need it. Log into your Pro account to download and install it.
i did install the 30 trial version, and then loaded the client's file onto the trial version.
the QBs comes up red, and i cannot access the file even though it shows at the top of Qbs
i will only need the file for a few days.
so what is the issue with the red border and no way to access the file
i installed the trial version, and uploaded the client file. The QBs border is red and i cannot do anything with it.
Why do you need to open your client's company file on the trial version?
Can you share the screenshot of the problem?

Beforehand, may I ask for the screenshot of the red border when opening the file, this way it'll help me verify what's causing the error.
Let's process troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.
Here's how:
If the issue persists, please proceed to the solutions found in this article: Can't open your company file in QuickBooks Desktop.
Additionally, for good practice, you can create a backup copy of your files. You may do this either manually or through the automatic process. This way, you can restore them anytime and prevent data loss in the future.
Feel free to get back to me if you have more questions, or if the issue persists. I'll be looking forward to your reply. Have a good one.
Is it the trial version of QB Desktop 2024 US Enterprise?
I couldn't see the red border clearly. You should take the screenshot with an app, not with your mobile phone.
You can use a free screenshot app like this one

sorry, i have been trying for hours, and need to go to a client's office.
I promise i will deal with this later. I am very frustrated right now.
i tried that and the message was to contact QBs with the license number and product code number. Done.
i put the information in and clicked "start chat", and everything is greyed out now.
it is
Intuit QuickBooks enterprise Solutions 24.0 Trial Version
I loaded the app you suggested, however it is on the screen behind the QBs screen that i cannot do anything with, but to go to the Task Bar and "end task". it is the only way to remove the file from the screen.
You should install the trial version of QB Desktop 2022 and/or 2023 Enterprise to isolate the problem. If the same error persists, there is a problem with your Windows.
