I have QuickBooks 2022 for MAC running on my desktop. I want to move Quickbooks to my MacBook laptop. I have downloaded the software with the 30 day trial. I want to move the license to the laptop.
When I try to register, I get an error that there is an issue with the server. I know my version is for one computer and I see how to deauthorize this computer, but I'm afraid to deauthorize the desktop and still have an issue registering the laptop. If I try to register the desktop, will I have the same issue.
I'm aware the reason is to get me to call and upgrade to online with a monthly charge, but I am only one person running a rep organization. I have no need for payroll, just the books. Any suggestions on how to register the laptop?

Ah, ok. I see the logo for QuickBooks and below it, the payroll app. Clicking on the QB logo does nothing, clicking on the payroll link just gets me the end of life screen. I guess I’ll keep using the desktop version.
Hello, @CoreyP. I’m pleased to help you transition your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to your new laptop. It's such an important step, and I want to ensure it goes smoothly for you.
But first, could you please inform us about the specific error you encountered during the registration process? Feel free to provide a screenshot if possible. Sharing additional details would enable me to give a more targeted response to your concern.
Before moving, ensure you've backed up your QBDT for Mac company file.
After that, deauthorize your old computer. I understand that it can be a bit intimidating, but rest assured that this process will release the license for your laptop and help you out. Follow these steps:
Then, restore your company file. Here's how:

Hi and thank you.
The error I am encountering is a registration error. The registration site has been down for days, not temporarily. I was hoping not to be on the phone for hours, then pounded by sales to "upgrade". I run a one-person manufacturers representative business with no need for payroll.
Also, this is a MAC desktop to a MacBook laptop. Same version of iOS and QuickBooks on both. I'm not moving from a PC to a MAC. The fixes for registration are .exe files, so they cannot be run on a MAC. Thanks.
I'm here to route you to the right support who can perform a screen share. They will be able to diagnose why you're encountering the error when accessing your files in QuickBooks Mac, CoreyP.
As I've checked, there's no current investigation regarding the registration problem. Since you've experienced an error while attempting to register your product information, it would be advisable to contact our support team. They can utilize secure tools to access your account and investigate your issue more thoroughly.

Thanks again for the Tool Hub link, but as I mentioned before the .exe is a Windows program and will not run on a MAC
QB ToolHub is only for Windows version. Which QB Desktop year version do you run?
I have quickbooks 2020 for MAC on both machines, both are running the same operating system and version. When I go to CAMPS, it only shows QuickBooks payroll as a product. We quit doing payroll throughout QB a few years bock. If I click on it, I just get the discontinued notice.
I've read where I should "Claim" my product in CAMPS, but I see nothing of that sort in CAMPS. If worse comes to worse, I'll just keep running 2020 on my MAC desktop and forget about transferring QB to my MacBook laptop.
If you cannot find your license in your CAMPS, it should be available in another CAMPS. Intuit server may have flagged it for some reason and you are not allowed to reactivate it. Another option, you can use the trial version of QBD 2020 as a workaround.

Knowing the license code is not enough. Intuit will only acknowledge your claim if you can access CAMPS and find your license code there. I believe that the message saying the registration server is down is just their action to reject your activation attempt.

I am having the same issue. I remember when I called them in like 2022 about an issue they tried to make me buy the online monthy crap. They were very clear that they were no longer going to support the old versions. I am guessing based on what your saying that once you deactivate its done. There will be no way to reconnect to the server. Its like the old version on the old computer is grandfathered in and they wont help anymore. Honestly its a scam. Like we bought the software and paid for a licence. I should be able to use it forever. As is with no upgrades.
Which QB Desktop year version? PC or Mac?
2021 and 2019
Just bought a new Macbook Pro M3
and I already know its not going to transfer.
So I went to look for my purchase and its not in the online Champs or whatever you called it.
I have both my old license and product numbers …. for the 2019 I saved my verification number but for 2021 I can’t find it.
I run a very small business and only use it for my personal record keeping and invoicing.
I like to look back over the years (since 2008) and track my customer’s habits and whatnot.
I don't need QuickBooks support in any way ever. I just want the product I legally purchased and paid for to be mine to use.
I find their new approach to be scammmy. I don't like Quickbooks as a company anymore because of that.
I was taken advantage of by someone in their online help like 5 years ago. So part of me understands why they want to keep the software online and at their fingertips…… but the other side of the coin is — why can’t they just sell a product that is so basic and leave it at that. AND allow me to move it from one computer to another without all the headache.
You can try to reinstall your QB Desktop 2019 and 2021 on your new Mac. Did you encounter any error message?
It says I have 2 more trial uses — there is no “paid version”
I can see my old information no problem
