Join nowHello,
I have a client that uses QuickBooks to run their business. They have to reach out to my team when QB updates so we can run the updates on their system. I was curious if there is a mailing list we could get on to be notified that an update is available.
I hope you're doing great today, @JakeJIT.
Let me provide some more insights on where you can see news and updates about developments on our platform and stay up-to-date with the latest events, meetups, and releases.
You have your client visit our Firm of the Future site. This is the best place to visit when it comes to discussions about plans for our product and how to meet the customers' needs and demands.
Also, they can check out the New Feature section on your QuickBooks to get information regarding the latest product improvements.
To do that:
Lastly, to ensure that your client's QuickBooks is updated to the latest patches and releases, they can always run the update. Please see this link attached on how to do that: Learn how to keep your software up-to-date so you always have the latest features and fixes.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me here should you have any further questions, I want to make sure you're taken care of. Thanks for coming to the Community and have a good one!
Hi @BettyJaneB, thank you for the reply!
My client uses QB but isn't very tech savvy. We have to connect to their server and perform the updates so they are all on the same release.
My company doesn't use QB so we'd like to have a way to be notified of an upcoming update/patch/release so we can proactive plan with our client.
Thanks for getting back to us here, @JakeJIT.
I have some information about getting update notifications. While we're unable to notify non-QuickBooks users, you can update QuickBooks Desktop automatically or manually. If you turn on Automatic Updates, QuickBooks automatically downloads and installs the latest updates. Otherwise, check for updates at least once a month.
Additionally, you can schedule for future automatic updates. Here's how:
You can check out this link for more information: Update QuickBooks Desktop to the latest release.
If you need help with other tasks in QBDT, you can browse for specific topics here and look for responses that fit your concern.
Feel welcome to message me if you still have questions or concerns with QuickBooks updates. I'm here to help. Take care and have a wonderful day ahead.
@ShiellaGraceA Same question as @JakeJIT
I was hoping you had an RSS feed or some kind of a community post alerting users that an update is about to be released. Automatic updates, while nice, do not serve this purpose. Please advise where we could be notified of upcoming quickbooks updates in advance so as to prepare. Automatic patching can be risky business and is better done in a test environment before rollout.
Thanks in advance,
Thank you for sharing your feedback, rjones14520.
Our developers periodically update and release new features for QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). They might change how this works in the future.
To be updated with our latest news and updates, including product improvements, I encourage you to visit the What's New section on your QBDT account or open this link to view our product update blogs.
Additionally, I want to ensure that you get the most out of QBDT for your organization. I recommend visiting our Community articles that can help a user to get acclimated to the software.
If you have other concerns, please post in the Community again. Wishing you and your business continued success!
This just shows what a joke Intuit and QuickBooks has become.
You have an "Enterprise" software, but you don't have a way to send out release updates via email?
Don't tell us how to go check for updates, or how to tour new features. We just want an email list that tell us when there's a new version!!
Hello, Your_IT.
I can see that having the option to receive emails about the release updates would definitely help. We would be able to see the notes easily and see if we want to opt in for the new release now or at a later date. Personally, I'd also like to manage the software updates this way, especially in a critical environment.
With that said, I'll further address your concern about the email option for update notes.
As what my colleagues mentioned, we're unable to notify users about the new version through email. For now, I would recommend sending feedback on having the option to receive emails on updates and releases notes for the versions.
Click on the Help menu, hover on Send Feedback Online, then select Product Suggestions.
I'll also share these articles to help you know what's included in the update for all supported versions:
We can check them out and see what's new when there's a new release update in the near future.
If you need to check on your entries and how they run through your financials, we can run a variety of reports in QuickBooks. Check this article out if you need help: Understand reports.
I'm all ears if you'd like to voice out other concerns about QuickBooks and its features. If you need help with your entries or reports, please let me know the details and I'll help you out.
Send feedback? Unreal, Clearly QB is not enterprise friendly at all, and they don’t care. No advanced notice and then end users are locked out quickly after an update has been released. The update has nothing worth a lock out especially around a short week. I get constant update reboot loop errors when they release these. Just bad planning and programming on intuits part for enterprise IT. This is a mom-and-pop program. They give us no proactive planning time and jamespaul is dumbfounded when asked about it, just horrible all around. You go tell the team! How has this not come up yet?
