Rebuild data fail

When I try to make a backup Quickbooks Desktop Pro sets me in a loop where for hours I get the message "verifying data integrity" and or database consistency. I have let this run for as long as 18 hours and the backup never completes. This also happens when I use the file utility Verify or Rebuild.  I can open the company file just fine in Quickbooks. I need to make a copy for my accountant.

We need to check your data. It's possible that it's damaged that's why you're unable to create a backup.


I suggest contacting QuickBooks Technical Support for an agent to take a better look at your file. Here's how:

  1. Click Help.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. Click Contact us.
  4. On the Contact Us page, click Solving Issues & Error Messages, then choose File & Network Management.
  5. Click Start a Message
