Accounts Receivable and Undeposited Funds

Hi. I have finished reconciling up to November 2022. But apparently, there were still floating transactions on the Bank Register. Most of those are Accounts Receivable transactions. The Company is using undeposited funds, as shown in the attached image, it seems like there are problems between the accounts receivable and undeposited funds. How can I fix this so there will no longer be floating transactions in the bank register?

HI @Luna_103122,

I have seen your screenshot.

There has one legit way. That undo the transaction & categorize it right chart of accounts.

Thanks.

Accounts Receivable and Undeposited Funds

Hi, @Luna_103122. It's nice to see you here in the Community and posting your concerns. I'd be glad to help you fix this query with your floating transactions in your bank register.

One common cause of floating transactions is unapplied payments. Bill payments that aren't applied to bills or receive payment entries that aren't used to invoices affect Accounts Receivable.

Sometimes failure to enter the appropriate bills or invoices results in unapplied payments. To correct this situation, you must enter the missing invoices or bills before applying the payments to them.

To find unapplied payments, we can review the Customer Balance Detail or Vendor Balance Detail report. Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Locate and select either the Customer Balance Detail or Vendor Balance Detail report.
  3. Review the report to identify any unapplied payments.

Once done, you can apply them to Accounts Receivable (A/R). I'll show you how:

  1. Go to Transactions, then select All Sales.
  2. From the All Sales tab, select Filter.
  3. On the Type dropdown list, choose Money received.
  4. Choose a Customer name from the list.
  5. Click Apply.
  6. Locate and select the unapplied payment to open the Receive Payment window.
  7. In the Outstanding Transactions section, select the invoices for which payment should be applied.
  8. Hit Save and close.
