Accumulating Bank Feed Transactions

Good afternoon,

Back in February I needed to switch banks. Unfortunately, the bank that we switched to charges a fee for WebConnect Bank Feed, so I download my transactions manually (and I am ok with that). The issue is since April, I have noticed an accumulation of transactions in the various accounts that I am working with. To date, I have 18 accumulated transactions in one account, 11 in another, and 2 in another. Here is what I do:

Log-in to my QBD Premier Plus Edition 2024 (annual subscription and is current)

Log-in to my bank

select the appropriate account and click the ".qbo" to download my transactions

return to QBD, open bank feed, select account and view the downloaded transactions.

I approve those that are current; however, I deleted (once again), ignore (once again) all those repeated transactions that have already been added, reconciled, etc.

How can I stop this from happening over and over.

Thank you

Joyce S

Accumulating Bank Feed Transactions

Hi there, jschwartz20.

Thanks for taking the time to post here in the Community. I want to make sure you're able to get rid of those accumulated transactions in your QuickBooks Desktop account.

It sounds like you've done all of the necessary steps to get these transactions removed that you don't need. I recommend taking it one step further where you can permanently remove already deleted transactions. Think of it as clearing out the trash folder on your desktop computer. This can be done in just a few steps:

  1. From the File menu, select Switch to Single-user mode.
  2. Navigate to the Accountant menu and select Batch Delete/Void Transactions.
  3. In the Available Transactions list, choose the transactions you want to delete.
  4. Click Review & Delete.
  5. You can choose to Back Up & Delete or skip the backup by selecting Delete only from the dropdown.
  6. Confirm by clicking Yes

The following article provides additional info about batch deleting or voiding transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

Please feel free to drop a comment below if you have any other questions. I'll be here to lend a hand.

Accumulating Bank Feed Transactions

Thank you, MorganB for your reply; however, this did not work.

1) I am already in single-user mode

2) I do not have the accountant menu

3) I was able to find the "batch enter transactions"; however, there wasn't anything listed.

I am not sure where to go from here. Even the article link you provided states "This feature is only available in QBD Accountant 2018, Enterprise, Enterprise Accountant 18.0, and later versions." None of those I have. I have QBD Premier Plus Edition 2024 (which is an annual subscription and I am up-to-date on this).

I appreciate your help, I really do; however, this did not work.

Accumulating Bank Feed Transactions

Thank you for following up with me, jschwartz20.

My apologies for that incorrect info, but thanks for checking! After looking into this further, I recommend reaching out to a member of the QuickBooks Desktop Support Team. Agents have specialized tools, like the ability to share your screen, to take a more in depth look as to why those transactions are accumulating even after taking the steps to remove them. Here's how to get in touch with the team:

  1. Open QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to the Help menu, then select QuickBooks Desktop Help/Contact Us. This opens the Help window.
Tip: Alternatively, you can also press F1 on your keyboard to open the Help window.
  3. Use the Search questions, keywords, or topics field to enter your question or the topic you need help with. You’ll get a list of articles related to your question or topic.
  4. If you don’t get the answers you need, select Contact Us to connect to an expert for help. You can choose between getting a callback, or chatting with us.

This link contains these steps if you ever need them again in the future: Get help with QuickBooks products and services.

Don't hesitate to reach back out if you have any other questions. I'll be here to help in any way that I can.
