All names (Vendors, Employees, Customers, Other Names) have disappeared

QB 2018 Desktop in multiuser mode, a co-worker was adding a new vendor and got an error message (and it unfortunately wasn't logged or screenshot so I don't know what the specific error was.)  I exited in hopes it would help and when I logged back in, the vendor list was completely empty, as was the Customer, Employee, and Other names list. There are no names in the check register or on bills in accounts payable.  The Accounts Receivable register has names, and when I click on an invoice to open it, there's a name on it, but it  then says the customer doesn't exist and needs to be added.  I was planning on upgrading to version 2021 after I finished payroll tomorrow.  Is this what happens when an older version is used?  The timing is definitely not optimal!

I'll help you fix the missing lists in your company file, BalBkpg17.

 

You can download and run File Doctor from the QuickBooks Tools Hub to fix common errors such as missing lists. However, if you have already run the Verify and Rebuild Data Utility option, you can restore the backup made prior to the rebuild. 

 

If not, you can continue with troubleshooting using QuickBooks File Doctor and then follow the instructions you see in the tool. Feel free to use this reference for more details: Names, items, or accounts are missing from centers, reports, or transactions.

 

If you'll want to upgrade your version seamlessly ensure your computer meets the system requirements. To ensure that your company data stays just the way it is, just create a backup copy and use it in the new version.

All names (Vendors, Employees, Customers, Other Names) have disappeared

The same thing has happened on one of our five companies in QuickBooks (Desktop Enterprise). All transactions are there. All financial reports appear to be accurate, but all vendors and customers have disappeared and I cant even pay bills. I am in the process of rebuilding data file and it is creeping along at an insufferable pace.
