Generally, when a user experiences unexpected behavior, like runtime errors and unresponsive pages, we can perform basic browser troubleshooting to fix the issue. It could be that the stored cache or an outdated browser is the reason why you encountered that payroll error.
We can start by accessing your QuickBooks account in a private or incognito browser. This process will help us rule in/out the browser as the culprit here. You can press Ctrl + Shift + N for Google Chrome, Command + Shift + N for Safari, or Ctrl + Shift + P for Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Edge. Once done, let's try running your payroll again. If it's working fine, we'll have to go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to eliminate the junk files.
Alternatively, we can use other supported browsers to further isolate the issue.
I've also included an article that will help you track where your business stands in terms of employee expenses: Run payroll reports.

I tried the suggested solution but the error message is still there on the incognito page. I believe this relates to the reenrollment of the pension where i have change one of the employees from not included to included now
Hi there, @nebeauty.
I appreciate you following the steps provided by my peer and for sharing with us its result. Allow me to assist you with your concern about the error message in processing payroll.
Since using the incognito window doesn't fix the problem, you can delete and recreate the paycheck instead. Doing this will refresh the system. To do this, you can pull up the Paycheck List report to see all the paychecks that you've created.
Before doing so, I'd also recommend taking a screenshot of the paychecks before deleting them for your reference. Let me show you how:
Once done, let's recreate the paychecks. This way, we can verify if the error message still exists.

However, if the issue persists, I'd suggest contacting our Customer Support Team. They have specific tools that can check your account securely and further investigate what's causing the error. Just click this link on how to reach them: Contact Payroll Support.
