Can I merge two accounts in one without losing the data transfer my subscription from one to the other

It's nice to see you here in the Community forum, @swlondongaselect.

As of this time, merging two accounts or transferring data entirely is unavailable in QuickBooks Online (QBO). You can, however, transfer data like Chart of Accounts, customer, vendor, and products and services list manually by exporting from the old account, then importing them to the new one.

Here's an article with guidance on how to do it: Move your lists to QuickBooks Online.

You may also wish to look for third-party applications that offer exporting/importing transactions between QBO companies. You can visit this link to find them: https://apps.intuit.com.

For additional reference, I'm attaching some articles which you may find helpful:

To merge two QBO Online companies, each QBO dataset will need to be converted to a Desktop version of Quickbooks first. The desktop files are merged and will need to be uploaded to a new QBO company file.
Can the merged desktop files be re-uploaded back to the QBO account? Yes, the merged desktop file can be uploaded back to the QBO account but if your account is older than than 60 days, you will need to contact Inuit to get permission to upload the merged data back to the original QBO account. If not, you will need to create a new QBO account. PM me if you need any more information.

Yes, merging two general ledger accounts is an option in QuickBooks Online, psyx. I've got steps to help you resolve and make them into one active account.

You'll need to ensure all detailed information from the other account are the same data entered into the account you want to keep. To help you do this:

  1. Go to Settings and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the duplicate account (the account you won't keep) and select the dropdown ▼ in the Action column. Then, click Edit.
  3. Change the Account name (Name) and Tax form section (Detail Type) so the duplicate account's info exactly matches the account you want to keep.
  4. When you're ready, select Save, and then Yesmerge accounts.

QuickBooks will now move its past transactions from the duplicate to the account you want to keep. You'll want to visit this reference for additional insights: Merge duplicate accounts, customers, and vendors in QuickBooks Online.

Furthermore, I've added this guide to help you review your accounts to ensure these always match your bank and credit card statements: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

Please don't hesitate to let us know if you require additional assistance managing your accounts. We'll be delighted to help you further. Have a good one!

Can I merge two accounts in one without losing the data transfer my subscription from one to the other

I am running out of computer memory.  So I was thinking of deleting the older versions of Quick books Desktop Versions.  If I delete the older versions will I have problems with the Desktop Version I am using?  I am a very small business and I chose to keep using Quick books Desktop version 2020 Pro. I am not having issues with this version, I just need more memory space, and want to know if I can successfully delete the older versions without having problems with Pro 2020?

Hi there, Fand S.

Every versions of QuickBooks Desktop operates independently from each other. Deleting an older version will not affect the current one that you're using.

Although, please take note that QuickBooks 2020 is already an unsupported version of QuickBooks. This means that it can no longer be updated and any add-on features will no longer work. Please see this article for more details: QuickBooks Desktop 2020 Service Discontinuation Policy.

Let me also share these articles in case you want to upgrade to the latest version:
