Hello there, chrissacshop.
I can help answer whatever questions you may have about QuickBooks. However, I just have to gather some information to ensure the best solution to your concern.
Where do you see the bold print with lines in QuickBooks Online (QBO)? Is this happening with all transactions? I'd appreciate it if you could send me a screenshot of the issue (visual reference). Just be sure to gray out any personal information.
Thank you in advance. I'm looking forward to working with you again, chrissacshop. Have a great weekend.
I would also like to know the answer. it has been an issue for several years. We have just accepted it as a program error.
Thanks for checking in with us, johndavid3.
Could you further elaborate on the issue you're having with printing transactions? Are you trying to print a check or payroll forms? We would appreciate any information or screenshots you can give us to help us locate the problem.
Update me in the comments section below. I'm hoping to hear from you as soon as I can. Take care always!
The bold print in my invoices look just like johndavid3's. Other parts of quickbooks online print fine. Bold print in the payroll stubs print fine. Printing anything not associated with quickbooks is fine. its got to be corrupt files in parts of quickbooks. I just spent over an hour on the phone with QB support, and its still the same. he escalated it to engineering but im not holding my breath. I've had this problem for years too, i have received invoices from other companies using quickbooks in the mail. They have lines in the bold print too.
Greetings, johndavid3 and tstumler.
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I am here to explain how QuickBooks Online works when it comes to printing transactions or reports.
Typically, QuickBooks Online is programmed to make the font of the Total for every account or section on the report bold, as well as the total amount of invoices, line items, and titles. Thus, changing the font isn't an option.
For future reference, here's a great resource to help you close out your current year and prepare for the new year in QuickBooks with your accountant: Year-end guide for QuickBooks Online.
Fill me in if you have other QuickBooks concerns or questions. I'll get back to help and make sure you're taken care of.
They're not trying to change the font, they're saying that bolded font is printing lines through the text or just under the text that should not be there. If this is a common issue then you guys need to figure it out. I'm having the same problem as well.

I know how important it is to be able to use QuickBooks Online (QBO) capabilities with ease, and I appreciate that you are looking for ways to make it work, @Quick_I_am.
As mentioned by my colleague, there's no ongoing investigation about bold print having lines through text. However, please note that QuickBooks Online is programmed to display the total amount for every account or section on the report in bold font, including the total amount of invoices, line items, and titles. Therefore, changing the font isn't possible.

I have the same exact issue and have called support. They are looking into it. For now, I did find a 'work-around' that helped me get a clear printout of my reports. It's time consuming but I needed clear printouts for my accountant NOW and cannot wait for a solution down the road. First, I download my report as a PDF and open in my Adobe Acrobat X Pro program. I convert it into an image file ["save as"] jpg. I open this new image file and then THAT prints clearly. I hope this helps anyone else get clearer reports printed until they can fix this ongoing issue.
These canned responses are so insulting. The original post is from 2022. Many of us (if not all) are having an issue with the quality of printing QB reports. Obviously QB isn't going to look into this issue, since the same question has been raised for years.
I was just told by Quickbooks helpdesk that it was a problem with my computer and.pdf reader. After many, many attempts at changing different templates and formats, I was able to switch the font and the lines went away. I am currently using Times New Roman and there are no lines on the bold text.
