When you open QuickBooks, have you received an error message? Any information can help us determine why QuickBooks won't open.

In the meantime, let's run the QuickBooks Install Diagnostic Tool (QBInstall Tool). This will help us identify any component issues related to QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

1. Download the QuickBooks Install DiagnosticTool.
2. When prompted, save the file to the local Desktop.
3. Close any open programs and run the QBInstall Tool.
4. Restart the computer after running the tool to ensure the components are properly updated.

Once you have converted your older file version on QBD 2020, you won't be able opening it again on older QBD version. You may purchase a 3rd party service to convert it back as long as you didn't record any new data yet.
