I am getting this message when trying to log into payment account in quickbooks POS 19,
"your payment account token is invalid. please sign in with this email to process payments. if you wish to sign in with different email, go to file > setup interview and select the payments tab on the server workstation"
do i need to do something on the server side? this is on my workstation pc.
Thanks for reaching out to the Community, Des Plaines Material.
When this message displays, it means your Payments Token wasn't refreshed before its six months were up. Once you've entered the password for your merchant services account, you'll be able to continue processing. If you need to change the account's email address or username/password to sign in, you'll have to do so on the Server by going to File, then Setup Interview and selecting the Payments tab.
In the event you need to recover your account's user ID or reset its password, you can do so from the QuickBooks Payments sign in screen.
Here's how:
I've also included a couple detailed resources about working with
QuickBooks Payments and Point of Sale that may come in handy moving forward:

So we just got this same error on our workstation and do not have cc processing for our grocery store. Signed out and signed in, reinstalled POS and did the data folder delete fix. Nothing has worked. Ive been on the phone with tech support for 4 hours today.
FYI its just on one workstation. Workstation 3 and 1 work find but workstation 2 gives the error with no way to sign in.
Has there been a fix for this?
Ok I just spoke with my local tech support and we managed to fix it. We had to delete our browsing and temporary internet files in both Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge. We did just IE with the QuickBooks tech support and it didn't work. This might of allowed the data delete fix to work.
So 4 hours with Quickbooks tech support with no luck and 15 minutes with our local tech guy and it works.
Helpdeskmt.com did via remote support and did awesome.
garrett im having the same exact problem.. browser gives me no option to log in how exactly did you fix it? any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi there, castle69.
Thank you for visiting the QuickBooks Community. I'll be sharing details about logging into the payment account in QuickBooks POS. Then, let me point you to the right support team to assist you with this logging issue.
The error "Your payments account token is invalid when processing credit card transactions in Point of Sale" has been labeled as an ongoing issue.
For now, you can complete each detail below if you haven't performed them yet as a workaround.
1. Sign out of payments from the top right of the Home screen on the computer and close the POS.
2. Navigate to C:/Program Data/Intuit/Common/Authorization/v3 and make a copy of the Data folder. (rename the copied folder to something different).
3. After creating the backup, go into the original Data folder and delete the contents of that folder.
4. Open POS on the computer and Sign into Payments at the top right of the Home screen.
5. Users may now process credit card transactions.
Then, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support POS Team, so they can add you to our notification list. This will help our engineers determine the number of affected users. You'll also receive an update through email once this has been resolved.
Lastly, you may refer to this artilcle to view steps on how you can change, recover your user ID, or set your password to make sure you can log in accurately: Reset your password or recover your user ID for your QuickBooks Payments account.
Let me know if there's anything else you need help with logging in to your account in POS. I'm always here to help you anytime, castle69. Take care and keep safe!
