Buy nowWe recently ran into an issue when sending Invoices. We use the following process to edit and send invoices (from the QB help page):
1. From the form, select the email icon.
2. Edit the email message text of the form that you want to send.
Note: QuickBooks automatically picks the template for the form you selected but you can still edit it and customize your email.
4. Edit the subject field and the body of the email.
5. When you're done editing, select Send.
As of about a week ago, when we edit the body of the email in the Outlook window, it shows the changes, but the sent email doesn't reflect any of the changes made, it goes out as the original. I've had multiple users report issues with this. Does anyone know what the issue is?
Welcome to the QuickBooks Community, @Ironwood-mfg.
I want to ensure you can save the message in your email invoice. Let's run some troubleshooting steps to get this fixed.
Changes in the body of the email should reflect to the emailed invoices. Since it doesn't reflect any of the changes made, let's make sure your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is updated to the latest release. This will install the newest features and fixes. Let me show you how.
If the issue remains, I recommend running the Verify Rebuild tool. This scans your company file for errors and quickly fixes them.
Come back to this post and let me know how the troubleshooting steps go, @Ironwood-mfg. I'll be around to provide further assistance.
I've also added these links that provide detailed steps on how you can personalize your sales forms and record invoice payments:
Have a good one!
Sorry for the late reply. I went through the steps in your post and the computer was already up to date, we have it set to automatically update. Unfortunately, the issue is still there. I'm wondering if deleting the template and adding it again will resolve the issue?
