Check signature stops printing in Multi-user mode

I am using QB Desktop 2022 Multi-user.  All of a sudden, one (PC1) of my 2 computers can't print the signature on check any more. The other computer (PC2) prints fine.

On the PC1, the computer with issue, the setting in the check form is exactly like the PC2. And it has been printing fine for years until yesterday.  When print, no error, the checks come out fine but w/o the signature even though the Signature option box is checked.

But if the Multi-user mode is turned off, then it prints the signature on the checks just fine.

It is so annoying.  And it doesn't remember my check setting. I use the Standard check option. Every time I print, it goes back to Voucher.  It did not do this before, nor does it do so on PC2.

Please help.

Check signature stops printing in Multi-user mode

Let's perform troubleshooting steps that will fix your printing concerns in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @ThereThere101. I'll walk you through to be guided accordingly.

Before we start, let's secure a backup of your company file to reinstate your accounting data if you ever run into a problem with it. Then, let's ensure we update your QuickBooks to the latest release. This is to download and install the latest updates and fixes if available.

Since it prints fine on your second personal computer, let's perform a Verify and Rebuild Data on your first device. It is to automatically fixes minor company file data issues. Let's begin by performing the steps below:

  1. Go to the File menu and hover over the Utilities option.
  2. Choose Rebuild Data and select OK on the QuickBooks Information window.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to allow the tool to repair your file.
  4. Once finished, select OK.
  5. Follow the first step and select Verify Data. Let it check your file for possible data issues.

If it doesn't find any problems in it, finish by clicking OK. Otherwise, select Rebuild Now

After this, re-print your checks using the first device on multi-user mode and verify the check settings if it retained based on how you have set them.

If the issue persists, we can perform other troubleshooting steps that will fix any printing concerns you may have in QuickBooks. To begin, we can run through the steps outlined in Solution 4: Run the Print and PDF tool from the QuickBooks Tool Hub from this article: Fix printing issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

Thank you, @RoseJillB , for the quick response and the detailed step by step instructions. I followed the instructions and did the Rebuild and this is the error I receive:  Error 194. What should I do from here?

Thanks!

Check signature stops printing in Multi-user mode

Thanks for letting me know about the error you're getting and for providing a screenshot, ThereThere101. Allow me to assist you in solving the issue of check signature printing in your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).

Error 194 usually ensues when the system detects a problem with the company file data. To sort this out, let's run the QuickBooks file doctor tool and use the Print and PDF repair tool to fix the company file. Before doing so, ensure that your QBDT is closed. Then follow the procedure below:

  1. Download the QuickBooks File Doctor and save it somewhere you can easily find.
  2. Open the downloaded file, then double-click on  QuickBooksToolHub.exe.
  3. To complete the installation, agree to the instructions on the screen and consent to the terms and conditions.
  4. Once the installation is complete, access the tool hub by double-clicking the icon on your Windows desktop.

After that, let's use the Print and PDF Repair Tool in the Tool hub. Here's how:

  1. Select Program Problems in the QuickBooks Tool Hub,
  2. Choose the QuickBooks PDF & Print Repair Tool, then wait approximately a minute while it runs.
  3. Attempt to print or export the file as a PDF again from QBDT.

Moreover, if you still can't print, kindly re-install your QBDT. However, if the issue persists, I recommend contacting our QBDT support team to look into your account and create an investigation to help resolve the issue.

Please know that I'm just a reply away if you have any other questions about your QBDT printing concern. I want to assure you that you are taken care of. Have a good one.
