The conversion process of a QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac company file requires the QBDT for Mac itself.
You'll have to look for a Mac system to start the process. If you no longer have an installer for QBDT for Mac 2016, you can download a trial version from this page: Downloads & Updates.
When you're ready, the first thing you need to do is remove any memos longer than 50 characters, or those that contain special characters.
