Customer phone numbers showing up on Printed estimates

I am wondering if anyone knows how to add customer phone numbers to the printed estimates. We only print out estimates to bring to the job site because we dont have access to the computer that has QB on it there. We always start out with only the estimate because customers change their order frequently when they arrive to pick up product. Due to most of our customers not requiring a printed Invoice or sales slip (most like e-mail), the only access to customer information is on the estimate, and we are getting sick of having to spend the time researching phone numbers and writing them down. We often have to take 20 minutes to leave the work site to go in search of the customer's contact info.

Customer phone numbers showing up on Printed estimates

Hello there, @welchmill. I appreciate you for reaching out to us and sharing your concern.

I can see the effort you've tried to get and track your customer phone numbers. We can only add the phone numbers to estimate or any transaction before printing them.

You can print an estimate including their phone numbers. This way,  you can view the customer's contact information without leaving the worksite.

To guide you further, you can follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
  2. Open the estimate you've created for a particular customer.
  3. Select the Formatting menu.
  4. Click the Customize Data Layout.
  5. In the Header tab, tick the Screen and Print boxes.  (You can also utilize the Column tab to enter a phone number).
  6. Enter a title. Example: Phone number.
  7. Click OK.

When you create an invoice, make sure to enter the phone number in the given field. Let's take a look at the sample screenshot below:

This is how it looks like when you print it:

Sorry, that didnt help. I am already doing that either by writing it in pencil on the estimate or by typing it into an unused item description box. All I want is for the same fields that are available in the invoice (up to two different phone numbers), and possibly the email address to show up on the estimates template as well.

With todays technology, one person's 'click' at Quickbooks headquarters could save many people dozens of labor hours a year. This shouldnt be a hard permission to add in one of the updates.

Do you have any other options?

Dealing with the same issue here. Why can't I simply check a box to include the customers phone number on a printed copy of the estimate?

Has this been fixed yet? If so, I can't figure it out yet..

We appreciate your presence in this conversation, Rachel.

I understand the importance of having the option to autofill the estimate with the customer's phone number, as it is relevant to your business. However, we can only add the info before printing them.

At times, we roll out enhancements based on our customer's requests. That said, I suggest sending a recommendation to our product developers. They'll review this idea and might consider updating it in the future.
