I have QuickBooks desktop and have had no problems till now I was using it three days ago and now when I open up QuickBooks it ask for my password then goes to a blank screen And up in the upper right hand corner shows nothing upper left-hand corner shows window and Exit that’s it. I called QuickBooks some guy answered and told me I would need to pay $1000 upgrade my subscription for three years. But I’ve never used online QuickBooks I’ve always use the desktop version only is anybody else having this issue

I have a few troubleshooting steps below to ensure your QuickBooks will run smoothly.
You don't need to pay $1000 to get QuickBooks Accountant Desktop updated. You'll just need to update your software version manually to have the latest features and fixes. Before that, ensure that your computer meets the systems requirements.
Once confirmed, follow the steps below:
Close your QuickBooks and go to your Windows Start menu.
Type QuickBooks Desktop, then right-click and select Run as administrator.
In the No Company Open window, click the Help menu on the upper right side.
Pick Update QuickBooks Desktop and choose Update Now.
In the Updates column, check all the lists.
Hit Get Updates.
Close and re-open QuickBooks, then follow the steps to install the new release.
