Drilling into QB details

Something has changed in recent weeks with my QuickBooks settings and I'm not sure how to resolve.  When I click on a report line item to see the detail, the new window does not open to display the details.  I see the screen flicker but nothing new is displayed.  Any suggestions to resolve?  Thank you.

Drilling into QB details

I've got some troubleshooting steps we can perform to get the report's details working, CarrieTr.

I've checked here on my end and there's no reported case about this one. It's possible your browser's cache data is full of the frequently accessed web. It could be your browser's cache is damaged causing the report line item not showing the details on the new window.

To get this resolved, let's try signing in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private or incognito window. This mode doesn't use the existing cache data and helps us confirm browser-related issues. Here's how:

  • For Google Chrome browser: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • For Mozilla Firefox browser: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • For Safari browser: Command + Option + P

Then, try running the report and click the line item to see the details again. Just in case you'll need to modify the report, just customize it to focus on the details you want.

If it works, go back to your regular browser and clear the cache to delete those temporarily stored files and browsing history. You can also use other supported, up-to-date browsers to roll out the possibility of a browser-related issue.

Visit our Reports page for more insights about managing your reports in your account.

I'll be right here to continue helping if you have any other concerns or questions about QBO. Assistance is just a post away. Have a great day ahead.

Appreciate the suggestions.  I completely cleared my cache and also tried incognito mode but neither resolved the issue.  I experience this issue any time QB wants to open a new window.  Another good example is when I search for a specific transaction -- I see the transaction in the search results list, click on it to open it up, but nothing happens.

Any other suggestions?  Thank you!
