I couldn't see any open alerts about transactions being duplicated in QuickBooks Desktop. Uninstalling and reinstalling the program will not remove duplicate transactions. Instead, let's run the Audit Trail Report to check who created them. Here's how:
Go to the Reports menu.
Scroll down to Accounts and Taxes.
Click Audit Trail.
Review the Entered/Last Modified and Last Modified by columns to check when and who created the transactions.

I am not entering the transaction twice, if i was i wouldn't be asking the question, as you can see by the attachment it ends up in the report twice where the second entry has a value of zero, if for example i delete the transaction with the zero amount it also deletes the other one.
