Hello there, @Dobbs3.

Let me provide some insights on what will happen to your QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2018 after May 31, 2021.

QuickBooks Desktop discontinues its add-on services like sending online entries every three years. That said, you will no longer have access to online transactions including, sending invoices to your customers.

Know that you can still utilize the program. However, entries such as invoices need to be sent manually outside QuickBooks.

To learn more about the service discontinuation or in case you'd like to upgrade, please check out this reference: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy and upgrade information.

I've read that article and it doesn't say you cannot email. it says you cannot receive pay from an invoice emailed. This is why I am chiming in here. This doesn't make sense. No where do they say you can't email. ?

Hey there, @Dobbs3.

Thank you for getting back to this thread. Allow me to add more insights about the QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) service discontinuation policy.

Under the What are the affected 2018 services? section, it's stated that you'll no longer be able to process eInvoice (email of invoice with pay link enabled) through QuickBooks Desktop 2018. These particular emails are the ones you send to your customers in QuickBooks. This contains the link where your customers can directly pay the invoices.

Having said that, after May 31, 2021, any email services that can be used to process payments will no longer be supported for QBDT 2018 version.

Should you have any follow-up questions or concerns, don't hesitate to post again here in the Community or leave a comment on this thread. Take care and have a good one.

Well I have found that after purchasing the 2021 version I am still unable to email any forms! I just spent 33 minutes in line on chat for a tech to pickup and disconnect immediately without a word!

Thank you for joining and getting back to this thread, @bookkeeper561.

I'll share with you the recommended steps that you can use in addressing the issue.

First, let's make sure you have the latest available software before sending the invoices. Updating QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) can fix some minor company issues in your account. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help menu and select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. From the Update Now tab, click Get Updates to start the download.
  3. When the download finishes, restart QuickBooks.
  4. Once prompted, accept the option to install the new release.

Try emailing the transactions again. If you're still getting a similar behavior, run the Verify and Rebuild Data tools in QuickBooks Desktop. Using these tools will help us determine the cause of the issue and fix it.

If the issue persist, run the repair tool for QBDT so you can send your sales transactions.

You can also run several reports to tell where your company stands. These offer critical information about your business and finances.

The Community always has your back, so please let me know if you have any other questions. I'll be more than happy to help. Keep safe.

I have 2021 pro and can no longer send invoices in quickbooks using yahoo.  I used to have to go to my setting in yahoo and generate a 3rd party password, which worked, but now that service is not working at this time...NOW WHAT???  How can I send my invoices without saving a jpeg and sending it manually. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Thanks for joining in on the conversation, lrwright1821.

I want to make sure you're able to send invoices in your QuickBooks Desktop account.

In order to get this issue addressed as quickly as possible, I recommend reaching out to a member of the Desktop Support Team. Agents have tools available, such as the ability to share your screen, to take a more in depth look to determine what's causing the problem with the emailed invoices. Here's how to get in touch with the team:

1. With QuickBooks open, press the F1 key on your keyboard.
2. Select Contact Us.
3. Enter Support in the field and click Continue.
4. From here you can begin a live chat session with an agent.

The following link provides these steps if you ever need them again in the future: Contact the QuickBooks Desktop Customer Support Team

Once you're connected with an agent, they'll be able to get you back up and running in just a short time. However, if you need a hand with anything else please don't hesitate to reach back out here.

I tried that and all they want me to do is to by more products...over 500 dollars for supports or a one time fee of $74.95...they were no help.  I just upgrade last year to 2021 and haven't had this problem until a week ago.  I chatted with someone and he wouldn't help unless I purchased something.  This is just plain wrong!!!
