LIMITED TIME 90% OFF QuickBooks for 3 months*
Buy nowTwo weeks ago I sent out invoices or receipts, any edits I would make in the email all of a sudden is not sending. It reverts back to the template. I have checked that both Quickbooks and Outlook are updated, I can't figure out how to fix this and the work around is cumbersome. Can anyone help?
TIA
I appreciate you for reaching out to us about the default text, @PJJJ. I'm here to help you with your concern related to emailing invoices in QuickBooks Desktop.
When you email an invoice, the information that appears relies on your QuickBooks preferences. If you're referring to the default invoice template, I suggest checking out the specifics in the Send Forms section.
Here's how:
Additionally, you’ll want to reinstall the Outlook app since you're experiencing strange behavior with synchronizing the information. Please know that the outcomes that are reflected outside of the system are beyond QuickBooks' control.
As a workaround, you can use the Webmail option to send emails that need to be edited before sending. I’ll show you how:
You can customize email templates and use them to send messages from QuickBooks. To know more about creating custom templates with customized subject lines and email bodies, visit this link: Create custom email templates in QuickBooks Desktop.

THank you for your response, unfortunately that didn't work. I uninstalled Microsoft Office 365, restarted my computer then installed Office but still having the same issue. I think I may have isolated the issue with a feature that was discontinued. I've called Customer Support on this but they were not able to fix the problem. Where can you change which browser Quickbooks uses? For example, open a new invoice, click the formatting tab, select Download Templates. In the past I would get a prompt that Internet Explorer is no longer supported by QB but I don't have IE installed. I have Chrome as my default web browser. If i do the same steps now I get the following error.
Thanks for coming back with more detailed info on your concerns, @PJJJ.
Our engineers previously investigated this issue. At the moment, the case is already closed as they found that the editing and sending of the invoice issue are happening in Outlook, and we don't have any control over it.
They have also tested the webmail, and it works fine. Hence, we suggest to use the webmail option in the meantime when sending emails that requires a manual editing.
Furthermore, I'd recommend contacting Microsoft Outlook to verify this issue in their end.

Where can you change which browser Quickbooks uses?
Thanks for reaching out back to us, @PJJJ.
As of June 15, 2022, Microsoft has stopped supporting Internet Explorer 11, and it was replaced with a built-in browser in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT). It is supported in QBDT Pro/Premiere/Enterprise/Accountant 2020, 2021, and 2022 versions. Currently, we're unable to change the default browser to another one.
For now, it's best to keep your QBDT updated to have access to the latest features and improved product experience. In addition, you may also migrate to QuickBooks Online, where updates happen automatically.
If emails aren't using your customized templates, please see this article to troubleshoot: Fix common issues when you use and customize templates.
Please don't hesitate to leave a comment below if you need further assistance with navigating QBDT. I'll keep an eye out for your reply. Stay safe!
