Error Code 81623

I’m here to ensure you’re able to update your credit card information in QuickBooks successfully, @userbruiser44.

The Error Code 81623 implies that the installment approval fizzled. The purpose behind this is an invalid location, or the subtleties you enter isn't coordinating with the monetary organization. You’ll want to make sure everything is correct. You can reach out to your credit card provider to verify the details.

Meanwhile, you can also perform some steps here to ensure this isn’t a browser-related concern. The online platform uses cache to work faster. However, these can sometimes become corrupted, which affects the platform functionalities.

You can start accessing your QuickBooks Online account in a private window or incognito for testing. Refer to these shortcut keys below for quick navigation:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

Once signed in, check if you can update your credit card information without error. If it works, you’ll need to get back to your main browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also switch to different browsers except for Internet Explorer as another option.

I’ve attached this reference to learn how to update billing information for your payroll subscription. Just select QuickBooks Online Payroll, and it’ll guide you through the steps to change your credit card info.

I’d be happy to help if you have additional questions or concerns with your billing. Just drop a comment below. I’ll be here!

Thanks for reaching out to us here in the Community, @marilynpayne

It's important you're able to update your credit card so you can continue enjoying the benefits of QuickBooks Online. I'll be happy to help get you back on track.

These are possible causes for the error you've encountered:

  • The address line 1 has invalid characters.
  • Account type when making bank transfers is set to " Current".

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps to fix it. I'll show you how.

  1. Go to the Gear icon and click Accounts and settings
  2. Select Company and choose Address. Let's ensure that there are no invalid characters in Address line 1.
  3. If the address is correct, delete the address and re-enter manually (do not copy and paste).

Also, if you use bank transfer as the payment method, make sure that the account type is set to Savings.

As shared above by my colleagues, MadelynC. Error Code 81623 indicates a failing installment approval. The reason for this is that you entered an invalid location or the information you entered does not match the financial organization. You'll want to double-check that everything is in order.

If the error persists, I suggest reaching out to our phone support so they directly review your account. This way, we can check where the issue might be started.
