Export from QuickBooks Premier - Accountant Edition 2021 to QBO

Hi, every time I try to "export your company file to to Quickbooks online" I get a pink box saying

"You’ll need to update your software to access your Intuit Account here.". -  F2 information here: If anyone can please help. At a guess it seems like it's something to do with internet explorer and edge issues... Thanks.

Export from QuickBooks Premier - Accountant Edition 2021 to QBO

Hello @MBC_Ltd,

I appreciate the detailed information and screenshots about the issue. I can help you fix the error message so you can export your company file to QuickBooks Online.

I suggest we start by updating your QuickBooks program to the latest release. Aside from improving the performance of the software, it instantly fixes common and complicated errors.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Help tab in the upper-right corner, then select Update QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Go to the Update Now tab.
  3. Select the updates you want to include.
  4. Put a checkmark on the box beside Reset Update.
  5. Hit Get Updates. Download and install automatic QuickBooks Desktop updates
  6. Restart QuickBooks.

After installing the updates, export your data again using the same steps. You should be able to pass through step 2 of the Export to QuickBooks Online window without getting the error.

If the problem persists after following the steps above, it may be related to your default browser. For users using Chrome or another browser, you can change the path by following the steps shared by the user (@sahluwalia) in this thread: Fix issue Quickbooks won't open without Internet Explorer.

Also, I've included an article you can use to learn how to fix data issues using Verify Data and Rebuild Data tools in QuickBooks: Resolve Potential Data Issues in QuickBooks Desktop.

Get back to me if you need more assistance fixing error messages in the Desktop version. I'll be more than happy to help out.

Thank you very much for your help. I have taken the steps you outlined with no change in the issue so far I'm afraid.

The updates where reset and redone.

Rebuild and verify completed successfully and reported no problems.

Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 8.1 is also currently the default browser.

Relevant pictures are in this link should be three of them, the editor here won't let me post them like last time. My apologies.

@MBC_Ltd

Looks like you upgraded your file from QBD 2013, correct?

Try to open the sample file on your QBD 2021 and migrate to QBO.
