Oh, I am able to log in.  It shows all of them "cancelled".  I have 15 records out there as I've used/bought QB for years!

If you see the canceled status, it means you don't have any one-time license. They can only cancel the subscription licenses.

Quickbooks has really pulled some dishonest sh!t. It's a shame the greed that is all around us. We've been a loyal customer for 12+ years.Unfortunately, I have a Govt. related biz that requires that I keep access to our data. I'll be looking for a replacement. Shame on you Intuit!

Last year, I purchased QB2022 Pro Plus believing I was getting the most current version of QB.  I have ZERO interest in putting my financials on the web.  My husband and I run a small construction company in a rural area in California.  $400 last year was a lot of money to fork over for the ability to organize our books.  We don't have payroll.  We gross well under $100K/year. I paid $399 for the desktop version in Sept of 21.  I bought multi-user hoping to give my partner the ability to input purchase receipts.  I expected to have at least 3 years access to my company file before being forced to upgrade.  1 year after purchasing the Pro Plus Desktop version, I am locked out of my company file.   I accepted the $400 expense as I expected to use the desktop version for 3 years, while losing the bank connect in 3 years.  Today, I attempted to open my company file & was denied unless I paid the annual subscription/ransom of $891.80!!!  I purchased my copy through Dell & didn't receive any information stating that the annual subscription was a requirement!  2 months prior to the end of year & I can't access my company file?

Log in to your CAMPS to check your license status. You should have received their notification to renew the license sent to your registered email address a few months ago. Unfortunately they don't offer any trial version for QB Desktop Pro 2022 or 2023 and you don't have any workaround.

We've used QB Desktop for 14 years. We have NEVER used many of the features included in the 2022 version that cost $350. NOW  they've raised their Desktop price to $550 for a year "subscription," AND they will hold my businesses data as HOSTAGE unless I pay the script fee.

I'm wondering if the Better Business Bureau or some other organization can look into this?

QB has a virtual monopoly on accounting/business software, and they treat their "customers" like garbage. Mostly giving a Mafioso-style, "What are ya gonna do about it?"

 

I wish I had NEVER bought the 2022 version (my accountant told me I had to) last December. This has been a nightmare.

I already HAVE QB Desktop 2022! I do NOT need QANY new features.

1 ~ I do all my own transaction entries - I use the bank register, reconciliation from a paper statement, and I have my own checks thru my bank, and I don't receive credit card payments. All of my work is done OFFLINE.

 

2 ~ We have customer accounts that I create monthly statements for and snail mail to them.

       I create very simple invoices for these customers. So I use accounts receivable.

 

3 ~ I use the Vendor for our supplies, or anything purchased for the business. Any vendor that we owe payment to, I send a check or ACH THROUGH OUR BANK, we do NOT use QB.

 

4 ~ I use Reports for financials, etc.

 

That is it. I also do NOT want to give QB access to my bank accounts. I want to be able to work while offline, and I do NOT do accounting on my mobile phone. I do NOT use my mobile phone for our shop.

 

I've used QB Desktop, renewing it every few years, since 2008-2009. I use NONE of the extra features, but have paid for the convenience and I know the system. Now QuickBooks is FORCING m e to change. How are you going to help me with this? I've been a loyal customer for 14 YEARS. 

 

QB treats its loyal customers like garbage, and then holds their small businesses data HOSTAGE.

How are you going to make this right?

you didn't even read my original post. You saw "QB Desktop" and then proceeded to tell me how it works and all the new features. 

 

This is a perfect example of QB "customer service" being nothing more than SALES PEOPLE.

I'm NOT buying QB Desktop 2022 ~ I ALREADY HAVE IT! Bought 12/03/2021.

This is CRIMINAL! and Intuit should be investigated. I totally understand that if new customers want the subscription service. But to hold the current users data HOSTAGE?? should be ILLEGAL!

The same exact thing happened to us! I have bought this product from a local retailer since 2007. I only use it for the same reasons as you do. I have a 2021 version and all of a sudden it wouldn't let me get into my file with an error message that says your quickbooks subscription has expired, which I don't have. After 4 hours on the phone Christian QB rep said I had to give him my cc number so he could make sure my account was updated, I said I don't want to buy anything and he said it would not charge my account, as soon as he entered my account info, I received a text that Intuit charged my account $565.34. I asked him to refund the amount he said he couldn't because he couldn't see it on his side, even though we were on my pc looking at the charge on my payment history. Then he conveniently hung up, got a new rep and she put me on hold, was on hold for 50 mins, then I called on another phone and got another rep. He was all nice and got my qb working, but under the new license that I asked him to credit me the $565.34 and then told me he couldn't refund my money because I need a subscription for my qb to work. Which i have never needed in 15 years! I asked several times to all the reps why they sell it in the store and I should have until 2024 to use the license I bought at a retailer but they said no its only good for one year. This is such a scam!

Login to your CAMPS as the Primary Contact and check your license status there. If you can find your payment history, you may be allowed to request a refund if needed.

If you find QB Desktop 2021 Pro Plus or Premier Plus in your CAMPS, your license will expire after 1 year. Not to be confused with QB Desktop 2021 Pro or Premier.

Yes, once I updated billing info, it still would not work and could not get pass the error message. After 5 hours on the phone 4th qb rep, they said I had to buy a subscription. None of those steps worked!

I am So Pissed Right Now , I cant even Breath !!! last year to the Day They made me pay 900.00 To Restore my info and on 2/14/2023 they have done the same thing and are demanding I pay again in order to Access my Customer files and information!!! I Can not log into my Account a Year ago and I was told my Data was Corrupted (1st part of Scam) I Was told that I had to get The Data Restored through A Different Dept. and They Charged to Retrieve my My Data !!! This Took Place 1 year to The Day and This Morning I Cant Open My Files , Received a Call From the Same Company that Restored My account and They Are Telling me that I was Covered For only 1 year and I Have to Pay again in order to Access my Company Files !!!! Scam Scam Scam !!!! We purchased Quickbooks Desktop Pro Plus 2022, never in my life have I seen a company get as greedy as they have become.  For us to renew for this year alone 1283.00 for 3 employees, and monthly expenses.  I wasn't as nice and told them to take their product and shove directly! Let them know that they have basically priced themselves out of the Sole Proprietorship industry and will be the last time that we use ANY of the Intuit products. Oh you get completely locked out.  I could purchase another subscription, but had a feeling this was what they were going to do.  So I ran every report I could think of, and downloaded to excel.  I can't wait to join the lawsuit that is sure to come in the near future with them.
