GL and Memorized transactions

I use QuickBooks Desktop 2020 to manage two small companies. However, in one of them, I'm unable to enter or edit General Ledger transactions. Additionally, memorized entries I set up disappear after closing QuickBooks.

I've tried several troubleshooting steps, including running Verification, Fix File, reinstalling QuickBooks, and using Microsoft's fix tool, but none have resolved the issue.

Does anyone have advice on how to fix these problems?

GL and Memorized transactions

Run the Verify/Rebuild Data utility. Any unresolved error message?

GL and Memorized transactions

I commend your efforts in performing some troubleshooting steps to try to fix this issue, @rogi.

Firstly, please ensure that you have opened the correct company file.

Could you let me know what happens when you attempt to edit or enter a General Ledger transaction? Have you encountered any error messages or restrictions? It's possible that you don't have the appropriate permission to enter or edit these transactions.

Also, did you recently restore backup data? If so, there's a chance that an incorrect version was restored, potentially causing memorized entries to disappear. If the backup is older than your current data, restoring it can result in the loss of any transactions or changes made after that backup was created.

If you have an updated backup of your company file, you can restore it to recover all the data in QuickBooks.

Additionally, since you're using QuickBooks Desktop 2020, which is an outdated version, you may want to consider upgrading to the latest version to ensure you have the most recent updates, features, and services that make managing your business easier.

We look forward to your response below.
