I recently set up quickbooks for my company and wanted to have more than one user be in quickbooks at the same time. All three computers have the quickbooks desktop downloaded. I am just not sure how I get them to be set with the user permissions that created over our network. Any help is much appreciated!
Do you have a license of QB Desktop for 3 users, OR 3 licenses of QB Desktop for 1 user?
Do you have a dedicated server or prefer to assign one computer as the host?
Do you have a LAN environment at your premise or prefer to connect with an internet connection?
I'm glad you choose QuickBooks for your business. I'll share a reference to guide you with setting up your Multi-user net work. This is intended for a LAN connection.
Please check this out: Set up and install a multi-user network for QuickBooks Desktop.
Each step has a clickable hypertexts (article) which will give you the detialed steps.
You can choose the peer to peer hosting method, or depending on what your IT personnel suggests. Please check this out: Hosting your company data in multi-user mode in QuickBooks Desktop.
Let me know if you have other questions in mind. Take care and have a good one!
Prefer to connect with an internet connection but can set up a LAN if need be
You can set up a simple private cloud solution to allow your remote users to work in multiuser mode with the user on the host machine or other users on the LAN. It costs $25 per month per access and you can utilize the same login in turns to lower your expense.
