How can I get rid of the special offers block on the navigation bar?

I use QB Prem 2020 with latest updates.

I have that special offers block at the bottom of the navigation bar and I don't wan't it there. I would like to use the navigation bar for my favorites and windows.

The same special offers are also available on the top under the Special Offers pull-down. I don't mind having it there.

It looks like this is something permanent or is there an option to remove it?

  3. Then choose General on the left-side panel.
  4. Click the My Preferences folder.
  5. Check the box next to Turn off popup messages for products and services.
  6. Once done, click OK.

I myself don't want to see pop-ups ads when I'm using an QuickBooks service I'm paying, gerdgoebel.

To turn off the promotion displayed in QuickBooks, let’s configure the General set up in your company file. With just a few clicks, you can simply perform the process.

Here's how to turn off product and service pop-up:

  1. Open your QuickBooks and go to Edit menu.
  2. Select Preferences
  3. Then choose General on the left-side panel.
  4. Click the My Preferences.
  5. Check the box next to Turn off popup messages for products and services
  6. Once done, click OK.

Then restart QuickBooks for this change to take effect.

I tried to tell you that I did that. The popup message preference is unchecked.

I closed QB, started it again, even rebooted the PC, but that block is still showing at the bottom of my navigation bar.

I can see how useful for you to remove the special offers block in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @gerdgoebel.

Currently, getting rid of the special offers block or the advertisement section in the navigation bar isn't an option. It's there to guide and suggest how you can optimize your experience with the program.

In the meantime, I'd recommend visiting our blog to keep you updated with the latest news and feature upgrades in QBDT: The QuickBooks Blog. It also includes the link to the Quick Start Guide and QuickBooks Resource Center pages to further guide you in managing the growth of your business.

Please know that you're always welcome to comment below if you have other concerns or follow-up inquiries about QuickBooks features. I'm just around to help. Take care always.

How can I get rid of the special offers block on the navigation bar?

Like I already mentioned, the special offers are also on the top bar under Special Offers, thus, we have it twice.

I rather have the entire navigation bar for all my favorites and windows. It would avoid having to scroll the navigation bar to display the rest of my favorites.

I get it that you want to advertise additional features, but you should let the user decide where and how I want to see them. If I see them once its fine, but I don't need to see it all the time. I already know by now what they are.

And why don't you make that as a preference? Then I can display or not display it, but it would be my choice.

I've checked for "pop-ups" in the preferences. I never allowed them in the first place.
I made sure the "Show ToolTips box" is unchecked
It does not sfop  Discovery Hub pop .How do I disable Discovery Hub. It is a nuisance and gives no value to the program

It is sure looking like Intuit has hired 3rd graders to program Desktop now ... there are so many issues

that are simply the marketing and program developers' fault ... I would certainly not hire any of these ...

Are you intentionally breaking Desktop to push more people to even a worse QBO ???

The Discovery Hub needs to go !!! and ALL your annoying pop up promo messages ...
