Hey JorgetteG. You left out the loss of transfer of data from QB to Turbotax. Another dirty trick that may backfire. Time to look again at TaxAct, H&R Block, and others. If I have to manually enter my data anyway, I'm no longer tied to Intuit for my 1120S, and if I move my 1120S, I might as well look at alternatives for our 1040 while I'm at it.
for those still struggling like I was, here is the link to buy "QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024": Intuit QuickBooks
here is the thing that is confusing everyone and I am convinced that Intuit is doing it purposely.
When Intuit agents reference "QuickBooks Desktop pro 2024" they are really referencing "QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024". There is no such thing as "QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024" with a perpetual license.
For all of those contemplating purchasing from the people that keep responding to all of the posts saying they can sell you a Desktop version with a perpetual license and $100 back. Buyer beware. You will almost certainly get someone else's key. These are "not" authorized Intuit resellers and you will be sorry.
Bottomline is this. If you currently are using QBDT Pro 2021 or earlier, if you don't upgrade before May 31, 2024, all of your online services will cease to work. If you don't upgrade before 7/31, 2024 you will no longer even have the option to get a subscription to Pro Plus and will have to go to the enterprise version.
Finally, if you need to buy Enhanced Payroll instead of Online Payroll, here is a link for that. Scroll past all of the Online Payroll gibberish and you will get to the actual Enhanced Payroll link: QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Enhanced | Payroll Done for You (intuit.com)
@Whatever It Takes Drain Cleaning
HOW MUCH IS OPTION 1 AND WHERE WOULD I GET IT?
What do you mean with Option 1?

I didn't find a single person in this community who responded to all the posts saying they can sell you the Desktop version with a perpetual license and $100 back. Can you explain which post you are addressing?
I have read many comments over the last month about upgrading from QB Desktop 2021 and have been very frustrated and confused. I have used QB for 20+ years, am a small company with less than 5 employees and have always found it easy to upgrade and purchase that upgrade from many different sources. Now I feel forced into purchasing something I don't want (i.e. the online version) and only being able to purchase directly through QB with pressure salespeople. Well today I finally made the call to QB to have that purchase conversation and I was dreading it but to my surprise I got a very nice salesman named Chris, who accepted the model of QB I wanted (Desktop Pro 2024 with Enhanced Payroll) without question and no mention of converting to the online version. What I did find out is you don't purchase the software like before (i.e. $200 for the software and then a payroll annual subscription). What QB now does is charge you a $650.00 annual subscription just to get the software and then add in the payroll subscription which has come down in price but that is because they have eliminated the 3 tiers (basic, std & unlimited payroll) and now you must pay $600/year plus $6.00 per each employee per month. I explained to the salesman how QB is really putting it to their long time clients and how confusing this entire upgrade has been, how people, including accountants, aren't getting their questions answered and are being pressured to purchase something they don't want, eventually having to hang up due to frustration, and that QB has alot of bad publicity out there. His responses were very flippant like; times are changing, costs go up, everyone has bad publicity, even Disney which is the happiest place on Earth, etc. No apologies. He also send that I should have received emails stating the changes made to the Payroll Subscription. I told him I haven't received any notices except that 2021 will be discontinued and an upgrade is necessary to continue with payroll. I also told him I just renewed my Payroll Subscription in April at the old price of $850.00, not $600. Why would that renew if the plans have changed???
Anyway, I wanted to share what happened today in order to help others possible understand better what to expect. The phone number I called was [removed]. There are some other numbers listed with QB and maybe they have the high pressure salespeople. I told the salesman I was grateful that he accepted what I wanted without trying to pressure me into something else. Fingers crossed that 2024 downloads and works flawlessly. Oh, also you can't receive a CD anymore, just an email with a download. Chris said "Nobody has CDs anymore". I'm old school and I still like CDs.
And the customer service is terrible!
Yes, seems like a scam to me. Has anyone had any success with these vendors?
You can email @Fiat Lux - ASIA and they can help obtain the legit license. You can also get $100 cashback.
Were you really able to purchase QB Pro 2024 by calling them?
Who is "them"? You must call Intuit Sales to purchase the license. Otherwise, send an email to Fiat Lux for assistance.
By them, I meant QuickBooks/Intuit. QB/Intuit let you purchase a license for QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2024 without buying a subscription?
As of QBD 2022, Intuit only offers the subscription license. Only scammers offer QBD 2024 with non subscription licenses.
How did you get the link to purchase directly? No search will pull it up, and it's obviously hidden on the QB's site. Did you have to call first? It's shady they make it impossible to find. I went through all my emails about the cut off and watched the videos linked in the emails, and NOWHERE is this link shared. Thank you for posting it.
You must call their sales team by phone directly. Otherwise, contact Fiat Lux for assistance.
Your contribution to this topic is highly appreciated! Your post was not only informative but also sparked thoughtful reflection. Your knack for simplifying intricate concepts is commendable.
Any success in finding an alternative to Quickbooks Desktop 2024?
Do you need to run any add-ons? e.g Payroll, Merchant Account
We don't currently need payroll but might need it in the future
You should contact Fiat Lux and they can share an option for your case.
I agree completely. I attempted to switch to QuickBooks Online, and it was a disaster. The number of things that went wrong are too numerous to list. Within two days, I called and cancelled, and am staying with QuickBooks Desktop. The 60 day money back guarantee is also a disaster. They have refunded me 3 different amounts, after three different phone calls, and they still don't add up to what they charged me. Every call, they tell me the amount that is to be refunded, which is the correct amount, yet when refund goes through, it is not even close to what they said. Basically, three calls, three lies. WARNING - do NOT go to QuickBooks Online. They also make it appear you have no choice but to migrate to online, completely misleading! And on top of all that, you can't get a price for Desktop Pro 2024 until you start the download, and only through Intuit can you get it. If you search for a price, they only show you Desktop Enterprise, the most expensive, and not needed version. Again, trying to get you to switch to online. One of the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. After upgrading to Desktop Pro 2024, I will be looking into other business platforms to change over to.

You appear to be a wise and astute person!
RE: WARNING - do NOT go to QuickBooks Online.
Excellent advice!
RE: They also make it appear you have no choice but to migrate to online, completely misleading!
That is correct. Intuit calls it "marketing".
I have been a QuickBooks Desktop Pro user for many years. It was a nightmare getting a renewal. They keep pushing the on-line version. My accountant treid the on-line version but discovered he can do anything but accounting. What happened to Ituit? Are they getting out of the accounting business? They say they are discontinuing purchases of the desktop version in July. Can I contine using it in the years to come without support or does it stop working. I just want debits and credits anyway.
Is there a way to migrate my Quickbooks data to another accounting system?
Which QB Desktop year version do you have?
Switching accounting software can be a tricky task, especially when it comes to migrating your financial data, UserLou. Let me show you the way and share tips for a successful migration process.
QuickBooks Desktop releases and implements a discontinuation policy every three years, including versions of Desktop Pro, Premier, and Enterprise. Starting from May 31, 2024, Intuit will discontinue support for all versions of QuickBooks Desktop 2021, including QuickBooks Desktop Pro, QuickBooks Desktop Premier, QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions v21. This discontinuation also impacts other Intuit products.
After May 31, 2024, you will no longer have access to services such as QuickBooks Desktop Payroll, Desktop Payments, live technical support, Online Backup, Online Banking, and other associated services through QuickBooks Desktop 2021 software. Additionally, you can still use the software, however, critical security updates safeguarding your data will cease starting June 1, 2024. I'm adding this page for the complete information on the QuickBooks Desktop discontinuation policy.
For instance, you need to create a backup file of your company; see this article for the detailed steps: Back up your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
As for migrating your QuickBooks data to another accounting system, yes, it is possible. Many accounting software solutions offer tools or services to help import data from QuickBooks. It's better to research an accounting system that suits your needs and a seamless migration process in the QuickBooks Desktop Market app.

Intuit has abandoned the little guy. I have 3 small individual company files in QuickBooks 2021 Desktop Pro. In 2021 a 3-year package was purchased for $400. No need for extensions like payroll, inventory, etc. Now they want $650 subscription per year! That’s a 388% percent price increase!
The online version, for the Simple Start level, for 3 company files is $360 times 3 or $1080 per year which works out to a 700% price increase! What a bunch of crooks.
