I contacted [email address removed] (3rd party quickbooks vendor), and was able to get a 2024 QuickBooks Desktop Pro license. I had to also create a melio account (bill payment service) and then pay an invoice of $650 (there's an option for $100 cashback if you use a cc). It took about a week and a half total to do everything, but the license is working great and I'm glad to have Quickbooks Desktop Pro for a bit longer so I don't have to move to QuickBooks Online.
What 3rd party applications can be used after May 2024 to import transactions into Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2021. I do not believe Pro 2021 has batch upload like Accountant or Enterprise. Will Quickbooks also not allow Excel or IIF imports, in addition to .qbo? Will all imports be turned off? Will a 3rd Party application even be able to import transactions if all imports are turned off? Thx.
You can use TP Importer. It's a $199 one time license and you can get $100 cashback to purchase the license from a partner.

Thanks for joining the thread, @jcd4.
Although QuickBooks Desktop Pro (QBDT) 2021 is discontinued, it's still possible to import batch transactions in QuickBooks Desktop Pro (QBDT) 2021 using IIF. Let me add further on this.
You can still consider importing your transactions into QBDT using IIF. However, there are list limits and formatting that need to be considered. Here are the steps to import batch transactions using IIF:
To learn about the maximum number of lists and the formatting of the IIF file, you can refer to these articles:
If this option doesn't work for you, you can consider 4Gal's suggestion. Alternatively, while I can't suggest a specific third-party app to do a batch import of transactions you can explore one in the Apps for QBDT.
If you need to categorize and match transactions in QBDT, let me add this article as a guide: Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
If you have further questions about importing batch transactions in QBDT, you can comment below, and we'll respond to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for the quick response. Let me ask the next obvious question then. Is there a simple way to convert QBO files to IIF format -- which as you state will be allowed for import still after May 2024 on QB Desktop 2021 -- and if so, once that conversion is done, and I import, will QB Desktop 2021 recognize the transactions from that IIF as coming from the same source (bank or credit card) as the QBO it was converted from. Will it apply the transactions to the correct account that bank or credit card was attached to when it was being imported through a QBO format. I guess I need to experiment.
Thanks for bringing this idea to our attention, @jcd4. Let me help you convert your files in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
We're unable to directly convert the QuickBooks Online (QBO) file to an IIF file format in QBDT. However, we can convert QBO files to IIF by using a third-party app. This will allow you to convert the file type. That way, you'll be able to import into IIF files in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Once done, ensure to back up your QuickBooks data file before any IIF import and choose a bank from the Chart of accounts where you can import the IIF file format.
Here are the following steps:
You can refer to this link for more information about the maximum number of lists you can make and different types of files to store different types of data and also how to import and export IIF files:
Also, you can check this article to learn how to create rules to help QuickBooks match your Bank Feeds transactions in QBDT: Create rules to categorize transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.
If you have other questions about importing files in QBDT, please leave a reply in the comment section. Keep safe.
RE: Is there a simple way to convert QBO files to IIF format -- which as you state will be allowed for import still after May 2024 on QB Desktop 2021
There's no built in way to convert a file, but a good way to convert QBO files to IIF files is to use our BRC OFX/QFX/QBO to IIF Converter
RE: ...and if so, once that conversion is done, and I import, will QB Desktop 2021 recognize the transactions from that IIF as coming from the same source (bank or credit card) as the QBO it was converted from. Yes, the account (bank or credit card) is added to the IIF file and then the transactions import directly into that account's register.
Thx @BigRedConsulting, appreciate the put. I would pay a one time fee for the software. Paying yearly, which can be upped every year, is a little bit of a pill to swallow. I do Python coding myself, and I have found a guy who is currently working a solution for QBO to IFF conversion for free. It's clunky, and needs some work, but I was able to do some basic importing last night with it.
Small businesses really need to find a solution to this unwise move by QB. The QB subscriptions for offline Desktop are untenable, and going online isn't trusted by many (including us) given inevitable sharing of company data for profit by QB.
I will consider purchasing your 3rd party software, @BigRedConsulting. You could seal the deal with me if it was a one time cost only, vice subscription. Else, here is a link to download some freeware that is not quite there yet, but can be used presently to translate QBO into IIF format and import. I may help this guy shore up his Python coding so it could be used as freeware by everyone.

Good luck everyone. Jason
hello @MarkAngeloG I tried to follow your very specific instructions and was told by three different agents in sales that I cannot buy Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2024 with the perpetual license. In fact, they said that Intuit has not sold that product for 3 years. Further I was told that the only options were to upgrade to Quickbooks Desktop Pro Plus 2024 or QB Online.
So why does it say here that we can buy Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2024 with a perpetual license, but when we follow your directions and call, we are told we cannot?
This is very confusing and irritating. I've used QB since 1992 when it was first released. 32 years. We deserve better than this.
We'll provide further clarification about purchasing QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT), @ndebarmore.
Yes, it's correct. Intuit no longer sells QBDT with a one-time license only, and you'll need a subscription to use the program and get a hold of your company file. Also, after July 31, 2024, QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus, Premier Plus, Mac Plus, and enhanced Payroll subscriptions will be available for new U.S. subscribers.
If you're a new user, you may opt for the Enterprise or Online version of QuickBooks. If you're an existing QBDT Plus and Desktop Payroll user, the latest security, product updates, and support will be provided. For more details, please see this page: QuickBooks Desktop to stop selling to new U.S. subscribers.
On the other hand, you can visit this article to know more about what the Enterprise and Online version has to offer:
You can leave a response in the comment section if you have follow-up questions about QuickBooks Subscriptions or have any additional concerns about the program. Stay safe.
Do you need to run any add-ons (e.g QB Payroll, QB Payment)?
"you'll need a subscription to use the program and get a hold of your company file"
Again, let me ask two questions.
1) If you have Quickbooks Desktop 2021, with an indefinite license, after 31 July 2024, will someone be able to open up their company file and use the QBDT 2021 software? We bought in INDEFINITE license for that software. I don't see how Quickbooks can prevent someone from using QBDT 2021 after 31 July 2024. If QB did that, I think there would be a consumer protection action possible.
2) After 31 May 2024, transaction ingest through QBO files will be turned off, correct? However, after 31 May 2024, one can still ingest transactions from bank and credit cards through IIF and CSV files, using 3rd party or other available freeware. This is factual, yes?

Make sure you have QB Desktop 2021 with a non subscription license, not QB Desktop 2021 Plus.

Yes. If you prefer to keep using the bank feed feature after May 2024, you will need another workaround. Contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA for details.
Thank you for your response and for sharing your additional concerns regarding your QuickBooks Desktop 2021 (QBDT) @jcd4. Let me provide you with more information about it.
To answer your first question, you can still open your company file using QBDT 2021 even after the discontinuation date, which is May 31, 2024, as long as your license is not subscription-based. However, all online services will be disconnected such as:
It's important to note that discontinued versions will not receive the latest critical security patches and updates, and you will not have access to live technical support or any of the other Intuit services that can be integrated with QuickBooks Desktop.
For more details on service discontinuation policy, you can refer to this article: QuickBooks Desktop service discontinuation policy
Regarding your other concern, you can convert your QBO files to IIF by using a third-party app, and you can import it using your QBDT 2021.
To help you manage IIF files, you can refer to this article: Export, import, and edit IIF files.
Moreover, you can learn how to access the view-only mode in QuickBooks Desktop if your subscription expires.

is MJ advisor reliable vendor?
this one?
Based on their prices, I'm not sure about them. If you want to bet your luck, buy a license from them and make sure you can find your license code in CAMPS as the Primary Contact. Most scammers will give the same license code to everyone and won't dare give you access as the Primary Contact.
I only found a trustworthy partner in the community until now to get the license.
Where did you buy QB Desktop Pro 2024? It's nowhere online and sales is an absolute disaster.
You can contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA and they will help to obtain the legit license (including CAMPS for sure) + you can get $100 cashback.
It's all subscription based now but you can get it here. I upgraded to QB Enterprise 2024 because it includes the payroll service (although you still have to pay the monthly per employee fees) and I bought mine through Fourlane at a 20% discount (supposedly the discount is good going forward forever).
You can also get the desktop version here:
https://quickbooks.intuit.com/email/final-desktop-plus-sale/?cid=ipd_stopsell
how would you get option 1 for that price? Payroll subscription itself was $550 this year
Hello there. I'll connect you with our Sales team so you can purchase QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) Pro.
It's important to note that as of July 31, 2024, QuickBooks Desktop will stop selling several versions to new subscribers in the U.S. However, existing subscribers are not affected and can renew their subscriptions after the date. For more information, please go to this link: QuickBooks Desktop to stop selling to new U.S. subscribers.
If you wish to purchase QBDT Pro, I recommend reaching out to our Sales team. They can provide you with all the necessary information about the product and guide you through the purchase process. Furthermore, here's an article to guide you on installing your QBDT: Install QuickBooks Desktop.
Keep in touch if you have any clarifications about purchasing QBDT Pro. The Community team is here to answer your queries. Stay safe.
@Whatever It Takes Drain Cleaning
Which Option 1 do you mean?
If you continue with QB Desktop 2024 you will have to continue purchasing the payroll subscription as well. I found that purchasing QB Enterprise was more economical and also increased the file size for my clients, which is a huge plus. I had a quote from Fourlane for around $1,600, which includes the annual QB software and p/r subscription combined.
