I can see questions, I have asked questions in the past, but it is always a head scratcher on how to post a question. I know I am asking a question here, but it is in totally the wrong part of the community. Is there a phone number to speak to someone on how to use the community?
By the way, Intuit, if you are reading this, your community IT is a hot mess.
Hey there, @Service.
Thanks for taking the time to reach out here in the Community. You've come to the right place for assistance with all things QuickBooks.
I'd be glad to show you how to get your question posted in the correct area:
1. Upon logging in, hover over the Community tab at the top of the page.
2. Click the QuickBooks Q&A board to see all of the product sections offered.
3. Choose the topic you'd like to ask a question about.
4. Select the green Start a discussion button in the top right corner.
5. Type up the subject, enter your question, then click Post.
That will do it. I also recommend checking out this article about Getting Started in QB Community by my colleague @MichaelDL.
I'm only a post or comment away if you need any additional assistance. Take care!
How can I change the default memo description on the Bank Deposit Screen? It defaults to "Deposit" ,
How do you ask a question on here!?????
What is your question?
I agree, I attempted to ask a question, and got a Authentication error message.
Hello @Rick Harris,
Unexpected browsing behaviors can be caused by the saved cache and site history stored in your browser. Let's clear them so you can post a question successfully.
To do so, let's start by using a private or incognito window of your browser. You can follow the following shortcut keys below for easy navigation:
If it works, you can clear your regular browser's cache to let it start browsing from scratch. But if not, you can use one of our other supported browser apps instead.
Additionally, you can also browse for the content of this helpful article about the different methods you can start using to interact with us: Check Out Our Community Guidelines and Meet the Team!
If you have any other questions, you can always leave them in the comments below. I'll be here to address them. Stay safe!
Why does Choose File prevent me to post my question. I don't have a file to choose.
Thanks for joining the thread and letting us know about this QuickBooks community concern, @steinv.
You should be able to post questions here in the community without any file attachments. If you encounter any issues posting your question on a browser, try running some browser troubleshooting steps and see if it fixes the problem.
Unexpected issues within this page can sometimes be affected by the amount of data stored in the cache. This is because a regular browser will constantly overwrite itself and will not remove history unless done manually.
Private browsing will not save any history, so it's a great place to identify issues in the browser. Use this keyboard shortcut to launch a new private window for Google Chrome, press Ctrl + Shift + N.
If it works, clear the cache to resolve browser issues in QBO. Using a different browser can also help.
Kindly update me with the result. I want to make sure this community page issue is resolved and you're able to pull up the accurate data successfully.
How do I get rid of "Choose File" so I can post my question? I did ctrl+shift+N but i didn't see "clear cache"
Hi 2Flustered!
The Choose file button is put in there in case a poster needs to attach a screenshot about his issue. You can still post your question without clicking on it.
Let me know if you have other questions about posting a question.
I also get the authentication failed message. How do you resolve in MS Edge?
Let's perform troubleshooting steps to get this fixed, Prkimmel.
This happens when you have browser-related issues. You can use the shortcut keys below and use a private window for Microsoft Edge to log in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO):
This window deletes cookies and browser history, leaving your browser clean and easy to access any website and error-free. Once done, you can double-check if everything is already error-free. If so, go to your main browser and clear the cache. Sometimes, cached files and data can cause a webpage to reload. Also, some browsers have a setting that can cause a page to reload automatically.
On the other hand, if it's still not working and you're getting a failed authentication message, you can switch to a different browser instead.
Moreover, you'll want to browse some of our helpful articles if you have any questions or concerns. Just ensure to select the correct product by clicking the drop-down arrow. I've added this link: View All Help Articles in QuickBooks.
You can always inform us of any other concerns when posting on our Community forum. We're here to help you all the time.
You have clicked a link to a site outside of the QuickBooks or ProFile Communities. By clicking "Continue", you will leave the community and be taken to that site instead.
