Thanks for getting back and adding more details to your concern, Jim.
I can help provide further information about correcting 1099s in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
As of posting, the steps for correcting 1099s in QBO that have been e-filed to the IRS and weren't rejected are yet to be updated. You can check out at a later date for the process in this link: Correct or change 1099s in QuickBooks.
However, I understand that corrections for 1099s should be addressed as soon as possible. For this, I recommend contacting the IRS Support on how you can correct the filed 1099s outside of the software.
As for the follow-up question, QBO doesn't currently have the form 1099-C. You would have to process Form 1099-C for the cancellation of debt outside of the software.

Welcome to the Community, @Jimhowell. I appreciate your effort in posting your 1099s filing concerns in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
At this time, QuickBooks Online only allows you to file your 1099 once unless rejected by the IRS. This means any corrections needed, or updates can be made in a printed copy and sent in by mail directly to the IRS. You can order forms online at IRS Online Ordering for Information Returns and Employer Returns.
If it results in being rejected by the IRS, we can still fix it by resubmitting your 1099s and voiding the previous one to update some incorrect information and e-file this again. To begin, let’s see what 1099 forms were rejected:
Then, proceed to void this by selecting Void forms from the 1099 filings tab. After that, proceed to Steps 3 and 4 to update and resubmit your forms: Fix rejected 1099 forms.
Furthermore, you can view all forms you previously filed within QBO. They are available to view or print approximately 35 days after the end of the quarter. Check out this article for complete details: View your previously filed tax forms and payments.
Keep in touch if you have more questions about filing 1099s or any form of taxes. I’ll be around the Community to lend a hand for help. Take care!
Thanks for the information! You mentioned the 1099 being rejected by the IRS. I don't think this is applicable, because the one I sent was not rejected. I sent it by mistake, and want to make sure that it is not processed at all. Does QBO have the form 1099-C?

The instructions for 1099 corrections just say to click "Correct" once it is marked as "Accepted."And they say it'll be available in February. But here we are on Feb. 3 and there's no correct button. I'm wondering if Quickbooks is delayed on this happening or if something is wrong with my Quickbooks.

I acknowledge the significance of the ability to correct your e-filed 1099s urgently in QuickBooks, eubanksto. Allow me to dig deeper into this matter and provide clarification.
Please know that the IRS only allows corrections for platforms like QuickBooks (QB) sometime in February. It secures smooth processes for all 1099s that need modifications after the initial filing period. It's also essential to note that there's no exact date for when the Correct option will be available for QB users.
On the other hand, you can contact our Support Team so you can gather more insights regarding the feature's availability. Our team has the resources to provide further updates about this matter.
