How to create an invoice from an Estimate containing "Groups" without showing all the items in the Group

Hi,

I have been using QB for over 20 years.  I am now using the "Group" category.
I want to create my Invoices from my Estimates created using "Groups" without printing the "Items" in the Group on the invoice.  I think there needs to be another option to click on the Item.  You should be able to choose to print items on Invoice and another button to choose to print items on the Estimate.  So you can choose either.  It seems I have to create two estimates.  One for Office purposes and One for Customer to see.

How to create an invoice from an Estimate containing "Groups" without showing all the items in the Group

Let's create an invoice without printing the items in the group you've created, TCummings123.

Leaving the Print items in group box unchecked won't show those items when printing the estimate or invoice. Your customer will only see the name of the group and its total amount.

To show or keep the item when printing the transaction, you'll simply need to customize the sales form. I'm glad to show you how:

  1. Open the estimate or invoice.
  2. Go to the Formatting tab, then choose Customize Data Layout.
  3. Select Columns, then check or uncheck the Item box under Print.

  4. Click OK to save the changes.
  5. You can also perform this steps on your invoice.

Then, you can create progress invoices from the estimate. It will allow you to split the estimate into as many invoices when needed. Check out the Set up and send progress invoices in QuickBooks Desktop for more details.
