When you add a new user, they will receive an invitation through email. Let's make sure they accepted it so they can create a user ID and password.
Once they open the email, let them click the Let's go! link. This will lead them to create the credentials and accept the invitation.
If they have accepted it already but still unable to log in, let the them reset the password or recover the user ID. Here's how:

I've been having the same issue but cannot get it resolved. We have tried adding two users to QuickBooks Online, and the emails invitations send fine and everything gets as far as logging in, then the message we get is something like "We're sorry, but your user is not associated with any company file." This, of course, is not accurate because we sent the invitation from our company file and the user is logging in with the very same User ID (email address) that we put in our Company file.
We have gone around and around with this before and never could get it solved. Now we really need this solved so that our users do not have access to everything (under the Master Admin login). Help!
