Here are a few steps you can try to get QuickBooks Online working smoothly again:

 

  • Are you using Google Chrome? we recommend using Chrome to get the best experience possible. If you are already using Chrome, ensure you are using the latest release by going to the Chrome menu and selecting Help, then About Google Chrome. By doing this, Chrome will be able to run QBO efficiently.

 

  • Ensure your operating system is up to date, and you meet the system requirements for QuickBooks Online. This way, your system will not exhaust itself trying to run QBO.
  • Your internet speed also affects your experience while using QBO. Run a Google Speed Test to confirm the speed of your connection. If you're experiencing a slow internet, I recommend contacting your Internet Service Provider.

 

If you're still encountering the same issue, I recommend troubleshooting your browser to ensure no temporary files are ruining your experience with QBO. Let's start with accessing QuickBooks Online using incognito mode or a private window. Here are the shortcut keys to go private mode in a browser:

 

For Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Opera:
 

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + N

For Firefox:
 

  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + P

For Safari:
 

  • Shift + Command ⌘ + N

 

If this works, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache and cookies to clear temporary files running in your browser that have caused the malfunctions. Otherwise, you can also use other supported browsers to ensure it runs QBO efficiently.
