So, I also received this message.
I called quickbooks support to talk to them about it, and they tried to convince both me and the owner of the company that someone had clicked a link in an email and that installed a virus that was making it look like we were getting a quickbooks prompt telling us our subscription will expire in 7 days.
I cannot stress enough how much of a horrible idea it is to have untrained staff telling people you have a virus.
If you got the message popup that says your account will expire in X days when you attempt to login, with only the typical two options (Cancel and Close) then it's a real message from quickbooks. No one on earth would devise a virus that does nothing but warn you, additionally it's very easy to verify that it's a real official message.
It's almost certainly because your license has gone out of sync.
If you go to Help > Manage My License > Sync License Data Online I bet it will freeze and won't process.
If you're on wifi, that's your problem, switch over to wired temporarily and sync your data.
If you're already wired you'll want to try flushing your DNS (start>run>cmd--->ipconfig/flushdns) or if you have it available connect a VPN to swap your IP address and try to sync again.
I'm not going to say there's no virus going around, but if you get an actual message from Quickbooks with no links to click or anything that leads you outside of quickbooks and clicking cancel stops your login and clicking close allows your login it's clearly not a virus. If it's only happening on one station it's almost certainly a problem with your account syncing.
If you find this link and read this and my suggestions don't work, please, please, please don't just jump into a panic that you've received a virus, this is just miscommunication with QB staff.
