I have QB Pro 2018

I can not get it to open. I have installed and ran the tool hub. It won't open. I have run compatibility.  It won't open. Even run as administrator won't open.

Let me share another troubleshooting steps we can use to open the program and continue with your business. 

 

Before we proceed, can you share with me the error message you're getting when opening QuickBooks? Any additional info would be much appreciated. 

 

Since the QuickBooks Tool Hub and Run as Administrator don't work, we can repair QuickBooks to fix all damaged installation files. That way, we can open the software. 

 

  1. Go to Start.
  2. Select Control Panel.
  3. Under Programs and Features, select Uninstall a Program.
  4. Click QuickBooks, and select Uninstall/Change.
  5. Select Repair.
  6. Click Finish.

 

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can repair QuickBooks: Repair your QuickBooks Desktop for Windows.


If the issue persists, let's run a clean install to fix the problem. Doing this won't affect your data at all.

I have QB Pro 2018

I never got an error message. It just wouldn't open. I did the install/repair thing and it opened up. It has been giving me this problem for the last month. I hope it opens tomorrow. Thank you for your reply and help.

I never got an error message, it just wouldn't open. I did the install repair thing you suggested and it opened up. I am so very happy. I hope it works tomorrow. Thank you very much for replying and helping.

I'm happy to know that uninstalling and reinstalling QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) lets you open the application. 

 

You can update us in this thread on how it works tomorrow or moving forward. Otherwise, you can perform the additional solutions provided in this link to fix the issue: QuickBooks Desktop doesn't start or won't open.

 

 Once settled, you're now ready to work with your QBDT entries.

 

I also noticed that you're working with QBDT Pro 2018. You may upgrade to a newer version of QuickBooks if you want to receive the latest security patches and updates.

So far so good. QB has opened every morning. It seems to open and close a lot faster now. Thank you so very much. I would be lost without QB.
