You’ll need to install the program first to your laptop, @boardchair.

I’m here to ensure you’ll be able to access QuickBooks at your home.

After the installation, you’ll have to download the company file and save it to the local drive. This way, you can work on your company records. Here are these steps below:

  1. Create a backup company file from your original computer.
  2. Give a unique name to recognize.
  3. Save the backup file somewhere you can easily find.
  4. Move the backup company file to your new computer. You can either put the backup on a flash drive or an external device.
  5. Follow the steps to restore the backup on your laptop.
  6. If you use payroll, download the latest tax table after you move your file.

For detailed instruction, you can check out this reference: Move your company files to another computer.

In case you encounter any circumstances such as performance issues after restoring, you can use this link to resolve and manage them.

Thanks for reaching out to us. In case you have other questions about accessing your data, please let me know so I can help you out. Take care.
