I have Quickbooks self employed turbo tax bundle. Where is the service code to get my free filing that I paid for?

I'll guide you to where you can get the service code to have a discount in filing your taxes, @stephanie108

Usually, the service code is a unique code that applies a discount to the TurboTax Online fee. Only TurboTax specialists can provide these codes for specific, predetermined reasons, and they aren't considered coupons.

Please know that this code can use only once, as TurboTax Online tax returns can't accept more than one service code. With this, I'd recommend calling the TurboTax Customer Care Team.

Here's how:

  1. Sign into your TurboTax account and type Contact us in the Search bar.
  2. Choose the Contact Us button from the results
  3. Select the pencil icon to enter your question and select Let's talk.
  4. Click the Get a call and submit your request.

Make sure to call them within business hours to ensure a swift response.

Once you have it, here's where you enter it:

  1. Sign in to your TurboTax account.
  2. Open or continue your return if you haven't already done so. Please ensure you already send your QuickBooks Self-Employed data to file them accordingly.
  3. Go to File from the menu.
  4. The following screen has a list of all your fees. Find and choose I have a service code.
  5. Follow the onscreen instructions to enter your service code, then Continue

I have Quickbooks self employed turbo tax bundle. Where is the service code to get my free filing that I paid for?

I called TurboTax and was on the phone with a representative for over a hour and she could not help me. The advice was to pay for it and then ask for a refund, this answer is not acceptable. She then advised me to call Quickbooks, so  I am now on hold with Quickbooks and the hold time is 50-55 minutes which is absolutely ridiculous. I pay every month for this bundle that includes a free filing. It should not be this difficult to use it when tax time comes. I am going to look at other options for my business going forward this is unacceptable.

@stephanie108 did you find a resolution? I'm in the same situation. I pay for Quickbooks Self-Employed Tax Bundle but am still being prompted to pay for my federal and state filings in Turbotax.

I requested the call back and did the online chat until someone answered. It was a long hold time but they finally gave me a code to use. I had to push to get the whole thing paid they wanted to give me a discount which doesn’t make sense because the subscription is for the cost of the return.

I requested a call and message until someone answered the hold time was ridiculous. They did give me a code but I had to push for the entire amount because they wanted to just give me a discount which is ridiculous because I paid for free filing in the bundle. I am very disappointed that it was so difficult.

Well, it’s almost a year later and this problem is still going on since this exact situation is happening to me. I kind of think Quickbooks does this on purpose to make money off of the people who will just pay the filing fee again and not try to resolve this due to how incredibly difficult it is to get the code or refund. Not looking forward to my call tomorrow. It helps to know others have gone through the same thing so I’m not alone in my frustration. I want to switch to a different service for next year.

I have Quickbooks self employed turbo tax bundle. Where is the service code to get my free filing that I paid for?

Just wanted to share my experience. Spent 2 afternoons talking with multiple TurboTax reps on the phone, and none of them knew anything about the Self-Employed Tax Bundle and would not give me a service code. Finally, on the 2nd day, I got a rep to simply give me the credit for $129 to purchase TurboTax, we spent a lot of extra time on the phone and she searched up and down all my account info and she could not find anything on her end to confirm that I had the Self-Employed bundle or that the bundle should include a service code for TurboTax. She basically gave me the credit just based on my word. Now that I am ready to file my taxes, I am at the final stage and TurboTax is now trying to charge me $64 for the state filing which should also be included (1 state). So now I am back on the phone, on hold, yet again trying to fight to get what I paid for. This is completely not worth the trouble.
