I am considering transitioning to Quick Books on line. I have 20 years of Quicken Data for my business. Do I transfer all twenty years or a lesser amount of years? Before I begin to transfer this data should I make sure my chart of accounts on quick books has all the same accounts I have on quicken.
Thanks for considering to transition from Quicken to QuickBooks Online (QBO), @Shelly1818. I'm here to share details as to how you can transfer your data accordingly.
You're in control of how much data or amount of years you're going to transfer from Quicken to QBO. Yes, you'll have to make sure your Chart of Accounts (COA) on QBO has all the same ones you have with Quicken. This way, you can keep your financial data accurate.

Thanks for your reply, however, downloading Quicken data to CSV is no longer an option...
Hello jeansampson818, appreciate you for getting back to this thread.
There's one thing we can do when the CSV file is no longer supported in Quicken.
We can look for a third-party application that allows you to bring your data from Quicken to QuickBooks Online. There are a number of applications that we can use. However, we're unable to recommend one. I'd recommend clicking on this link: QuickBooks Apps Store. From there, browse and search for any application relevant to your needs. Before you get the app, I'd recommend checking the application's Overview, Pricing, Reviews, and FAQs. Once done, you can click the Get app now button.
Here are some of the links I've collected where you can get more tips and information about handling bank transactions and other help related to QuickBooks:
Let me know if you have done it successfully. I'm just right here if you still need my assistance with managing data within your QuickBooks Online company, jeansampson818. Bye for now and stay safe!

You may need to convert data to QB Desktop as the first step. Another option, purchase a 3rd party conversion service to convert data directly to QB Online.
It's the most recent version. Can you recommend a 3rd party service?

trying to migrate from Quicken desktop to Quickbooks online as well. Very frustrating process so far. Evidently there is conversion software that no one dare mention here and Google searches have not helped. Not super helpful.
Quicken and QUICKbooks are 2 separate things. This thread is for Quicken.
Are you for sure converting QUICKEN, or is it actually Quickbooks Desktop?
My guess is Quickbooks. And that would be why the information in this thread isn't helpful to you.
