IIF Import Issue 2019 QB Desktop

Previously, using Quickbooks 2016 Desktop, I would import my IIF files with no issues.  After the upgrade to Quickbooks 2019 Desktop, the data from some of the IIF files is posting to an inactive account instead of the appropriate sales account.

This is not a customer/item issue as on day X everything posts correctly. However, on day Y the same customer and item will post to the inactive account.  2 different days, same exact data, 2 different accounts.

Hi there, @CrushedStone.

I'm here to help share some information about importing IIF in QuickBooks 2019.

Since you're now using QuickBooks 2019, we also have an improved Import IIF Tool. It eliminates the possibility of importing bad data by scanning your file for errors. Please refer to this article for more details: Improved IIF Import in QuickBooks 2019.

Let me know how it goes after importing your data using the improved tool. Should you need further assistance with the steps, you can always reach out to our Desktop Specialist.

You can also check out our site if you may need other references in the future: Help articles for QuickBooks Desktop.

Keep me posted if you have other questions about the improved IIF tool. I'll be here to help however I can.

Thank you for replying so quickly.

I have been using the "new" import tool since the upgrade.  Originally we had an issue with the Descriptions within the IIF Files not matching up exactly the same.  So, I got a lesson in the Tool and deciphering the errors fairly quickly.  Unfortunately, the files are not receiving an error.  They are merely being placed into an Inactive Account.

I have attached a PDF screen shot.  The item on 4/17/19 imported to an Inactive Account.  However, the item on 4/18/19 imported to the Correct Account.

The IIF file does not, that I can see, determine which account it gets Imported into.
