Importing sales receipts and invoices from Online to Desktop

I'd be glad to share some information regarding the number of characters you can import in QuickBooks Desktop, sh48.

Each field in QuickBooks Desktop has its limitation. The line description has 4095 maximum characters.

To ensure you can import the transactions without getting the error, you might want to check the characters and make sure it doesn't exceed the maximum limit. For more details about this, check out this article: Character limitations for fields in QuickBooks.

However, if the characters are within the maximum limit, I'd suggest getting in touch with Transaction Pro Exporter and Importer Support. They'd be able to help and guide you on how to import the transactions successfully.

Thanks so much for this helpful reply. I'm confused to learn that the character limit is 4095 because my description definitely does not exceed that and the error message states that the limit is 31. Do you have any idea why that would be?

You can uninstall and then reinstall the app to isolate the issue. If the same things happen, you can contact the Transaction Pro Exporter and Importer Support team to assist you further. This way, you’re able to know why you keep getting the error message when trying to import a file.
