I can share some information about managing inventory in QuickBooksDesktop Enterprise.

Before anything else, I suggest consulting your account for more expert advice on how to handle this type of situation. This is to make sure the information and your books are accurate.

Since you want to change the items to inventory, you can edit them. Below are the instructions on how to create an item in QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise:

1. Go to Lists,  then select Item List.
2. On the Item List window, select Item then New.
3. Select the type of item you want to create.
4. Fill out the item fields.
5. Use Custom Fields to add your own customized fields.
6. Click Save.

As another option, you may have a 3rd party inventory management app to utilize mobile phones for barcoding scanners. You don't have to upgrade to Platinum edition to do so.
