is there a way to change the date format in an INVOICE template? Everything I find tells me to go to Reports and Graphs under my preferences. But THAT doesn't carry over to invoices. I way my invoice date to read as words: December 25, 2021 ~ NOT as 12/25/2021

Unfortunately there doesn't appear to be a way to do that.

I appreciate you performing some steps to change the date format of your invoice template, modemers.
The settings on the Company preferences tab are for the date format of your reports. Right now, the option to change the date format on your invoice is unavailable. Can you help me? I have specific requirements for an AI Bot one of my customers uses, and this will be more adn more the norm, but QB invoicing customization does not allow for the fields that I need.
Does Intuit plan to allow us to import our own PDF templates so that our clients AI bots will work? I don't understand how this can be something that intuit has missed, how is that possible?
As it stands I am going to have to double invoice, once in QB and again in Adobe, to comply with their needs. That is not tenable.
I know all about how to customize invoice templates in QB, please don't explain that to me again, and I even tried to import a template as a DES file, but it would not allow for it.
I need someone to call me.
Thank you.
